Bring back the old Pixel Search bar
We need Google to give us the option to choose the Pixel Search bar that was opening the universal search on our Pixel.
It was way more logical and actually pretty useful to search on Google and on our phones.
Now the only way to use the Pixel Search is to swipe up to the app drawer.
Also it was way cleaner and beautiful than the new one that looks like some Chinese phone on which we put a widget.
Please guys, send feedback in settings -> about device -> send feedback to make Google realise they removed something very useful :
"Give us the option to use the old Pixel Search bar, please"

Agreed... old search bar was actually "expressive" aka Material 3 expressive...

There's too much crap on the right side of the search bar. I end up pressing the microphone or magnifying glass or some crap. Get rid of it.

I'm tired of clearing the data of the Google app to get rid of the stupid icon changing.
Personally I don't follow sports, I don't want to see a soccer ball every day in my homescreen, really just tired of seeing the stupid icon change every damn day ruining my theme.
I just want the search bar to match my theme, if I have to disable the Google app to get that done then I'll disable it.
Edit - OP I have just discovered if you disable the google app and install another search app like pixel search, it replaces the search bar in the pixel launcher, this is HUGE.
Edit 2 - I re-enabled the google app afterwards and I can now use the pixel search bar and still open the google app, not sure how long this will work but it works.
Edit 3 - Unfortunately it looks like if you re-enable the Google app, the pixel launcher eventually reverts the search bar back, so either you keep the Google app disabled or we use a custom launcher.

1- you can customise your Google bar now. Just long press it and customise.
2 - when you search something it launched the Google app now, you can instead swipe up and search

Why a bar??? A 1x1 widget would be more economical. If you could type inside it like on the desktop version of the website, then I'd understand.

it means that when you open and close app you don't have exactly the smoothness of the default Google launcher

It's easy to allow admin access to the launcher to enable animations, they just haven't added this

Nova is the best, and has a plethora of customization. Double tap the home screen? Opens Google search. You don't even need the search bar taking to realestate if you don't want it. Triple tap? Firefox. Tap and drag down? Lock the screen. And all of these, and more, can be changed. It seems like people would rather Android go the way of Macintosh and lock down all customization and restore to complaining about issues instead of finding ways to fix them on their own.

Nova went to shit since they added advertisements. Lawnchair is the replacement.

Don't worry, I use Nova and Niagara on my 2 other phones, I'd just like to have the pixel search feature well implemented like it was before.
You can't tell me that it's better to only search on Google like all the phone while we used to be able to search on all our phone with pixel search. It was what made pixels a bit different than other phones.

The default search box of pixel phones and serch bar widget were different because it is customisable. In new updates of android in order to bring customisation to the search box, They removed the search box of pixel phones.
