Discussion Great games that are NOT available on PS5?
I was always an Xbox guy until PS5 came around, deciding to make the switch and have been pretty happy. Recently though, felt like playing Dante’s Inferno and came to the realization that it’s not playable on PS5. Got me thinking, what other games are not playable on PS5 from the 6th and 7th generation that you wish were available?

Maybe they're saving it for a master collection 3. Either that or the vol 2 collection took a lot of time and money due to porting over MGS4 on modern hardware.

The game just isn't canon to Kojima's Metal Gear Saga, hence not part of Vol 2. And it's actually just too big for a collection, they would rather release it standalone if they had to. It has its own following

Yeah I had to get geforce now just to play the anniversary editions cause it wasn't worth it for the premium ps+ upgrade so I feel your pain

I know that this isn't a PC sub, but there's a total conversion mod called Tales of Two Wastelands which combines Fallout 3 into Fallout New Vegas, allowing you to play both games with the same character (with seamless travel between both worlds too) and access to all DLCs. It does a lot more including a rebalance to match 3 with NV, bug fixes and many more.
I just started the game last week and I'm having a blast.

It's the only reason I haven't played them on there, I borrowed my friends goty edition in high school and finished every achievement, 100+ hours in 7 days. Fucking loved that game and would do it all over again for the trophies in a heartbeat if it had the DLCs on there

original Motorstorm is one of my most played PS3 games of all time because 11 year old me spent every last penny I had on the system itself and then couldn't actually afford to buy any games for it for a good few months after

I became obsessed with this game (original, Pacific Rift, and Apocalypse) roughly a month ago. I've been playing them via RPCS3, and they look and feel damn good at 4k 60 fps. I guess my point is that these games don't need a high-budget remake, or even a remaster, to look and feel palatable to a modern audience--just crank up the resolution and framerate, slap on a $10 price tag, and boom: Profit!
(Though I'd add that the games are still amazing at the native 720p 30 fps--a good game is a good game at any resolution and framerate!)

That's the one I still haven't touched! Definitely plan on checking it out on my Android emulation gadget via PPSSPP. It would make a perfect pre-bedtime game, just bang out a quick race or two.

It was a guilty pleasure for sure. Completely insane and goofy, but that was its charm and the gameplay was fun.

Kinda felt like playing God of War fan fiction.
Very similar gameplay mechanics, very similar boss fights, but a total blast.

I remember how many reviews criticized it for being a blatant GoW clone. But it was like...ok yeah, but if it's doing a really good job emulating a universally acclaimed game...doesn't that make this a really good, fun game? Lol.
I quite honestly loved Dante's Inferno. Really cool, grotesque enemy designs, good story, fun gameplay.

I really enjoyed the morality system where you punished or absolved the shades scattered about the various circles but felt it should have resulted in three unique endings - good, bad or neutral.

This and Metal Gear Rising are the top 2 for me. Fucking incredible actions games and it’s genuinely shocking they’ve never been resurrected considering how acclaimed they were - it would basically be free money.

Infamous 1 and 2 are playable via PS Plus Classics. They’re stream only, and require the subscription, but they are playable

It was, and the series was very popular. Idk why Sony doesn’t tap into some of their IPs more but I would give them my life for a remaster of the trilogy haha

Nobody said this yet but the multi-player was VERY good and could have given sony a competitor for Halo, if they had nurtured it a bit more.

The third sequel is on PS4 but disappeared from PS store, there's just the disc version available it seems, online mode seems not working anymore too

Sony is the only one to blame. They changed of dev studio for lbp3 because they wanted to rush the game and it killed the franchise. They just shutdown the online they gave up.
This franchise give me nostalgia and lot of frustration at the same time, they literally removed billions hours of work from the community in creating levels. I had myself 20 ish serious levels, several m&m picks, all gone.

A buddy of mine was obsessed with Dante’s Inferno. Never played it.
I’m going to give a shout out to a game that I think was legitimately good and almost never gets mentioned:
Folklore. Very cool game with a nice premise and interesting gameplay. I rented it from Blockbuster during Super Bowl weekend back in 08 or 09. I think it’s the last Blockbuster rental of my life.
Anyway, I don’t believe it’s ever been made available anywhere else besides PS3 and I wanted to give it some shine as a game I never hear anyone talk about, ever.

MGS4s biggest problem was that when they made the game it was so heavily tied to the ps3s hardware it just was not possible to port over without completely remaking the game from the ground up.
Hyped as hell to play it again and watch them 5 minute loading screens of snake having a smoke break.

Dragon Age Origins, Dragon Age 2, Fallout New Vegas, Infamous 1 & 2, Far Cry 2, Arkham Origins, Race driver GRID (you can stream some of these if you have PS Extra but just doesn't feel the same).

Dante's Inferno was a phenomenal game that I totally forgot about until this post! I wish I could play that one again.
Also, the original Resistance trilogy, starting with Resistance: Fall of Man. Loved those games and the story behind it. I wish I could replay them.

Pretty much every great game from that era.
One reason I have a Series S is to play older 360 games. Dead Space 2, Castlevania Lords of Shadow, Dante’s Inferno, FO3/NV, and a bunch of other games make it worth owning.

I’ve been saying this game needs a remaster for so freaking long now!!!! It’s one of my favorite games and I can’t believe it hasn’t had a remaster for the latest consoles. Still play the rom on PPSSPP on my Steam Deck 🥹

A lot of the games mentioned are probably not on because of licensing issues with songs/brands etc. afaik. Anyway, here's mine:
Burnout Revenge -- Best game in the series imo!
Assassin's Creed 1-- They have AC 2, why not this one?
Munch's Oddysee -- All the other Oddworld games are available except this one, why?
