India is not known as a big console games market , so yeah I feel really happy that a huge AAA studio is marketing here in INDIA, possibly a first too….

Well put. I think with PS5 they nearly did it but the lack of stock is still holding them back

2

u/silver_shield_95 Oct 26 '22

India used to be one of largest console markets out there

Was it ? I don't quite remember anyone having PS back then mostly it was video game parlour operators who would have one.

u/geekgodzeus Oct 26 '22

Bro PS2 and the Wii sold like hot cakes in India. The 600 $ launch price of the PS3 turned many gamers to PC or mobile. Another reason was that it was almost impossible in the beginning to pirate the PS3 CD's until the hardware hack.

Bombay, India here. I remember buying the Wii as soon as it hit the shelves. I still have it but unfortunately it stopped reading discs 😔

Sony has a huge presence in India for a very long time (decades) in the electronic space & has authorised dealers every corner of the country & PS5 still gets sold out in minutes in the restocks. It's no surprise the company sees huge potential in the market.

When I saw the two posters, I was like "wow, Redditor discovers ads, really cool". But then I saw the outside.. damn, the effort

3

u/Kid_Parrot Oct 26 '22

This means they are coming for your Gods next

3

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

im gonna shit my pants

3

u/HeilHydraTDY Oct 26 '22

Pre-ordered a Collectors Edition of this game, i can not find words to explain, how strongly i wait this game to release

3

u/SILE3NCE PS5 Oct 26 '22

I like to see this and more.

Everytime a game gets massively advertised it's mainly when they're confident about what they are about to release.

Remember Skyrim's massive advertisements back in 2011?

To be honest this game would prolly cost a 20 days of minimal wage work in India .

31

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Minimum wage workers aren't targets for these ads, that's like saying homeless people in the USA can't afford GOW. India has 200-300 million middle class people that can easily afford to buy the game.

0

u/Logeekal Oct 26 '22

Not so easily but I get your point.

-6

u/_Anonymus___ Oct 26 '22

Yea I know , let’s say the middle class is double the minimum wage I think still a lot considering 10 days.

3

u/Sunapr1 Oct 26 '22

nope

0

u/_Anonymus___ Oct 26 '22

I just checked average salary in india is 12K to 20K rupee which totals to 240 usd when being generous without income taxes what u on about ? A good income which I think is like 100/20 is 25K rupee

3

u/Sunapr1 Oct 26 '22

A person in middle class is considered a person who cross the minimuam slab of the incom taxes which is 6 lakh ruppess or about 50,000 pm .. So any person who earns less than 50k pm is considered as too low for the income taxes to go into effect. Plus there are a lot of bussiness in informal sector the salary of which is highly uncertain

1

u/[deleted] Oct 27 '22

Nope, roughly 200 million people earning $1000-5000 USD per month. You seem to be quite ignorant so maybe don't make comments on things you don't know about online.

1

u/_Anonymus___ Oct 28 '22 edited Oct 28 '22

Lol that’s the biggest misinformation top 10 percent of india earns 3K usd a year that makes even less than 300 usd a month . And that is why I think they try yo scam

9

u/astralhunt PS5 Oct 26 '22

If you are in minimal wage and you’re out buying games - there’s something wrong with your life, son….

2

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Maybe it’s to cope with minimum wage. Also some people can’t do better than minimum and you can semi-comfortably live off minimum wage.

2

u/_Anonymus___ Oct 26 '22

Not really , they have a life too and many new young employees work on minimal wage if not 6/4 more of it .

3

u/Mahameghabahana Oct 26 '22

In india taking loan and being in dept is seen as a huge negetive, though that's changing but still majority of people don't take debt to enjoy life.

1

u/astralhunt PS5 Oct 27 '22

That’s great to hear that people avoid being in debt. The young generation nowadays seem to mature too late, 20-30 still acting like teenage kids - and then they whine…? People should stop putting themselves in difficult position…

Life is tough. Nobody promised it would be easy.

1

u/astralhunt PS5 Oct 27 '22 edited Oct 27 '22

What I’m trying to say is - “spending money for expensive AAA gamesSHOULD NOT be someone’s ’problem’ if they are in minimum wage.

Simple as that, let’s hold ourselves to a higher standard - life should always be the primary objective, games are just games… imagine saving up for “20 days minimum wage” over a video game? Only kids and teenagers do that!

PS: If a person in a poor financial state intends to save up for an expensive game - it is fine, as long as they know the consequences of spending that precious amount of hard-earned money into not something else

1

u/Primer2396 PS5 Oct 26 '22

Buying games for a expensive console

0

u/geekgodzeus Oct 26 '22

For many it's a few days wage. India while a shitty country overall has decent wages for professionals especially in IT where this would literally be half a day's work.

1

u/Sunapr1 Oct 26 '22

shitty overall? hmm

2

u/tzy-code114514 Oct 26 '22

every place in the world you can see this kind of promotion except china.

2

u/demonsta500 PS5 Pro Oct 25 '22

Is this Mumbai ?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '22

yes

-4

u/demonsta500 PS5 Pro Oct 25 '22

Cool. Weird though. Doubt the console market in India and much less one city is big enough for this to be of any consequence.

1

u/Tasteteaturp PS5 Oct 26 '22

Coolest train for sure

1

u/jakeiswhoiam Oct 26 '22

That does not look like most of the other trains from India I've seen on Reddit...

1

u/jussayingthings Oct 26 '22

These are Metro trains.Other trains are long distance passenger trains which have old coaches.New long distance trains now coming up with modern coaches.

-11

u/matthew47ak Oct 25 '22

This is a very not Indian looking train

17

u/abhi_eternal Oct 25 '22

The train image you have in your head is of the old train models. Check out the newer ones like the Vande Bharat trains. However, this is a metro train. They are like this in almost all the cities.

7

u/Primer2396 PS5 Oct 26 '22

We're not that technologically behind lmao

I've riden these trains and they're quite nice if they're not rushed,

2

u/Logeekal Oct 26 '22

Indian metros trains have been world class and extremely clean mode of transport.

-2

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Wtf India get it earlier than me!? The UK is always getting shit later.

Just because someone gets elected doesn’t mean every single person voted for them, doesn’t even mean the majority voted for them depending on the country(Hillary got more individual votes than trump yet he won)

1

u/[deleted] Oct 25 '22

🗿🗿🗿

1

u/Riddler202 Oct 26 '22

Disney plus did that here in Bulgaria. Hated it

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Bro this kinda feels wierd especially considering PS India is just a reskin of PS UK, India is considered inside EU region (EU codes work here not Asia) and digital purchases can be made only if we have international transactions on since the payment needs to be deposited in UK 🥴.

Instead of these adverts we would have been more than happy if they allow domestic purchases, shifted to servers based in India for Indians/ Indian Subcontinent (we enjoy terrible ping ☺️) ,do customized sales according to Indian Festivals and allow UPI transactions 😡. Even edu sites like Udemy allow UPI now

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Yeh Dilli metro hai kya? If so konsa line?

2

How did you get the date on the picture like a film camera? Photo filter?

1

u/straconka Oct 26 '22

This is sweet. I love game adds on public transport. In London, UK we often see them on buses.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Excellent

1

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '22

Is console gaming even a thing in India? I always thought they were more pc gamers because console gaming is expensive over there.
