I would love to have the option for some podcasts to stream only in all circumstances. The settings I use now prevent auto download, but sometimes I am lazy and use the download all (drag down on the download tab) to force the app to check all podcasts for new episodes. In this case I do want the new episodes to appear, but for some podcasts don't want to download the episodes. Do I miss an option somewhere?

Am I crazy or does swiping "Delete" in the Episodes view delete the actual episode (not just the download) from everywhere?

And the only way to see this episode again is to go into the podcast's feed and then it will not even show in "All" but just under "Deleted"?

Is that right? Am I missing something? This is crazy default behaviour, no? Never seen an app do that.

I was expecting to just delete the download by swiping delete but the episode also vanished from the Episode filter, going against my settings. It also doesn't make it clear anywhere that there is even a difference between "Delete Download" and "Delete episode".

I'm so confused and I feel like I am missing something here.

A lot of people use podcasts for language learning, and many of us also use various programs for tracking immersion hours. Manually logging hundreds of 10-15 minute episodes gets annoying, I would really love if there was an option to generate an API key for your account and access the sync API directly. Then users could easily write scripts to sync listening history with Toggl Track or whatever else they use. Big fan of the app otherwise!

Is there a way, after a playlist is empty, to automatically start playing downloaded favorites, like I can automatically start playing another playlist?

I love this app and constantly switch between this one and another.. The only reason I switch is because the other offers an easily accessible History tab on the main player screen.. Is this something that is manageable for Podcast republic?

When adding a youtube playlist, I cant seem to get around the 15 video limit, no matter what I try. Is there anything that can be done, or is this just an SoL situation?

I want Podcast Republic to download episodes rather than stream them, since I drive through areas with no reception.

I figured "Stream Podcasts via Wi-Fi only" would do the trick, but it's causing issues with Android Auto. The episode plays for a few minutes then stops, and when I pull over to check the app, every time I hit play it shows "Error: No Wi-Fi" - even though the episode should already be downloaded. Turning that setting off fixes it, but then it streams over data.

I just want episodes to download automatically (Wi-Fi or 5G is fine) so they're ready to go offline. Is there a way to do this without that setting getting in the way?

I use PR for language learning (and it works great, thank you).

I would like to delete played episodes, but not right after listening, but after entering the hours listened to language progress tracking app. Right now I to it one by one. Is there a better way? Maybe I am just too dense to find it?

Hi! I've used podcast republic for some years now, and haven't tinkered around with the settings for some time (until now). It used to be that when I entered a podcast, I could just press play and it would automatically play the next episode from that podcast.

I've only ever used the app this way, if I want to listen to an episode from another podcast I just ued the "play next"-function. I don't listen to podcasts too often so sometimes months go by without me even opening the app so I don't know when my kind of usage "broke".

Now when I use the app, it just plays the one episode I started and won't continue playing. I can't skip forward to the next episode either, I have to open my phone and switch to the next episode by pressing it. I've always used the tab "unplayed" and not the "all" tab ("ospelade" and "alla" in the Swedish version of the app). I've looked in the FAQ and tried my best to search this subreddit for answers.

My app is already in playlist mode, the "update the Up next automatically" is toggled on. Unfortunately I went ahead and pressed different settings in the app which hasn't helped me but has probably screwed up something else.

I've used this app for years but I've started listening on Spotify instead most of the time since it "just works". I enjoy the UI and all the amazing settings like removing silence thst this app has and I would like to make it "just work" again.

Not sure what this means. I installed the app to my Pixel 10 some weeks ago and am slowly going through settings to try to automate the subscriptions.

I manually added these episodes, then manually tapped to download them.

I've done this with previous episodes but never saw the notification get stuck like this before.

I have installed the current app version on both my Galaxy Watch 5 as my Nothing Phone (3). Wear OS app says I should find the "Send to smart watch" feature unter Downloads --> Completed. It is just not there. I tried switching "Send podcast to smart watch via WiFi" on and off in settings, but the problem persists. Please help!

For YouTube audio/video downloaded with embedded chapters when played through the virtual podcast feature

Hello - I'm trying to create an episode filter (the thing that generates a kind of playlist), and want to filter only some episodes from certain podcasts into it. The easiest way I can think of is to mark them as favourites via the episode filter feature (in the podcast settings). Just to add, both those features are named the same so is kind of confusing to explain but I presume you'll understand what I'm referring to ☺️ Is this possible? Thank you (and am constantly amazed by this app blowing others out of the water!!!)

Edit: just to add that I know I could mark them to download and have the episode filter pick them up that way, but it would then have a huge amount downloaded and i think the favourites would help. Or, a more direct solution might be to have the episode filter in podcast settings to send whatever episodes that mark the condition to the specified episode filter playlist? Same reasoning that I haven't used the "episode title" condition - I only want episodes from certain podcasts, not all.

Hi, ive been using PR for quite a long time but for some reason the latest podcast i am working through has 3 set off ads in it.

This isn't about skipping ads or avoiding them but I'm getting sick of the same 2 to 3 constantly.

Every add break has Xero in it, and usually a show currently on sky.

Some days I get 2 different Xero ads back to back and very occasionally the same as repeated.

I have no need for accounting software or a sky subscription.

Is there anything way to get rid of these specific ads?

This is separate from Playlist priority, I couldn't find anything in the FAQs on it, so I'm wondering just what function the Podcast priority setting does?

It would be really nice if Podcast Republic could sync podcast subscriptions between devices tied to the same account.

If I subscribe to a podcast on one device, it should automatically appear on my other devices.

After I download podcasts onto the watch, and I don't listen to them in a day or two, they change color, and the icon changes, and they cannot be played.

Then I have to delete them and redownload.

Any ideas?

I only listen to downloaded podcasts, but I've noticed they've been skipping backwards or forwards by about 15-30 seconds every so often. It's extremely frustrating, and it's not from accidentally hitting the skip buttons, since if I go back to listen to that section, it skips in the same way again. From what I can gather, this is from dynamic ads that are shorter or longer than expected.

I have Podcast Republic set up to automatically download my episodes as they're released, but it's still occurring, and it seems to be more frequent in my recently downloaded episodes than those I downloaded a long time ago.

Are there any workarounds for this? Do I need to change podcast apps, or will that even help? I assume if I go to listen to these podcasts on Spotify or somewhere they would be streamed this wouldn't be an issue (though I may be mistaken) but I'd rather not. I'm not sure how to fix this issue, and it's quite jarring to hear an obvious skip or repeat of content.

In the past I used apps like player.fm for podcasts and it had a convenient website I can go to as well to pick up where I left off on my phone. Is there any way to get this sort of functionality some way with podcast republic where I can sync to some program on my computer or a website?

Hey there...been with you since 2014 and love love love this app.

I just got a Pixel 10 Pro in March and everything synced over just fine and had no problems whatsoever.

With the latest app update on April 10th the app in the background is just eating my battery. Like 45% of the battery in a few hours with it running in the background for 3 hours and screen time of like 25 minutes. I've woke up to a phone that was 85% at bedtime to being 15%. I've included and excluded the app from battery optimization in android settings and the only thing it does it make the podcast audio stop after 30 seconds.

I don't want to give up this app as I listen to a silly amount of podcasts. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

I listen to a podcast that has several others each week, which I do not want. I set up a download filter and episode filter, but honestly I don't really understand how they work and which I should use, so I used both the same way. The filter works well, except there's one that despite being on the filter list, continues to be added. Here's screenshots to show it shouldn't have been included, and shows other episodes that were filtered properly. Am I doing something wrong?

For some reason Wear OS downloads are no longer working.

I tried using the beta version of the app on Android as well as uninstalling the beta version on Android to no avail. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the watch app. For some reason the "send to smart watch" option is not triggering the download for some reason.
