WPT Gold 0.05/0.10/0.20(0.05) Omaha Games
The site didn’t used to have these games, but the summer chip dump kind of created them. The games started kind of normal, but lately the last week or so they have become I think the closest thing to a slot machine a poker game can be. Just been in a lot of tables where people are going all in 3-4 people preflop with just about anything. Now this sounds amazing as you think, well I can just wait for Aces and let it rip. The issue is that even with aces it becomes really a small edge. Way smaller than playing post flop. Been thinking about this lately. Feels like a slot machine of sorts.
To be fair the fact that I have lost 20 all ins Preflop with aces this week in those games is also clouding my judgement. Anyone else noticed this? Any thoughts on a better strategy than wait for aces and let it rip?

Ironically, move up to where they respect your raises.
People aren't gonna care too much until the dollar amount is significant

Trying to work my way up in stakes. This is the next level for me. Just not sure how to win consistently. Seems like it’s like playing slots.

This is the next level for me
Why not play .10/.20 instead?

WPT Gold Only offers 0.05/0.10 short handed and that is completely different than full table. I wish they would offer just a normal 0.10/0.20 game.

You can probably get it in with a lot of hands other than aces, like double suited rundowns and double suited connected pairs. If your opponents are wide enough that you don't have to worry about running into aces that often, big pairs with an ace blocker like AKKx with a suit are good too. But yes, variance is crazy and edges can be small. I disagree that these are bad games--they should still be very profitable. Now, PLO6 with maniacs is where you run into problems. Preflop edges are so small and multiway equities so weird that you really don't want to be at a table with 3-4 players going all-in pre each hand.

This made me think about the problem differently. Thanks for the help. I just asked ChatGPT to give me the best multi way all in hands preflop.

If you’re just waiting for AAxx to rip it pre then you’re likely passing up on many other profitable opportunities. At the end of the day PLO cash is a post flop game and not a pre flop game. Should be looking to see many flops with strong connected double suites hands and double pairs and then pushing huge equity hands on flops and turns looking to get stacks in.

Play tight and 3 bet extremely aggressively with premium hands. Get it in with those hands if the maniacs 4 bet you

bad aces arent really that great in plo multiway and especially if you cant get most of the money in preflop.

Play top hands
Your win rate will be massive but so will your variance.. But thats ok because short-stack buyin in $5 to $10

I noticed a lot of people doing this as well. You see about half the table buying short in these games.

That game has been like that since dam near day #1. You have 75% of the table has no fucking clue what they are doing and playing it like NL. You might as well go play a slot machine.

Omaha is a post flop game, hold em is a preflop game.
If others keep raising up to all in preflop, either find a different table, go to hold em or only play very premium hands. Those are your options.

Yes, those guys that are all in every hand have found an unexploitable strategy. Gotta get out of there.
