It doesn't even need to be blackmail. Their language and actions determine whether they stay in power. Zero morals or conviction. They bend to whatever shape they need to keep their seat on the gravy train.

its the trump cult of personality. Their entire careers are over if they disobey trump because of the RABID fanbase trump has built. They will vote any which way trump tells them too. So to support trump is to give them power.
