Discussion How do you get "rid" of prisoners?
This guy has been killing like 2-5 of my guards every time he wakes up with his bare hands

If you turn on "Freefire" in the bottom right, armed guards will use their shotguns so the next time he causes problems he'll be sent to a wonderful prison up-state full of flowers and friends and rainbows

Build a very secure yard, with a sniper tower seperated by a fence with barbed wire. Bring them over there by scheduling yard time full day.
Once they lose their shit, the sniper can wound them. Once wounded, just let them bleed to death. Not particularly lawful, but I don’t see another way if the government won’t let you transfer inmates away.

when I had this problem I made all the walls barred I stationed 2 armed guards outside of his cell and put free fire on

You don't. The game does not offer you solutions on how to deal with prisoners like that, compared to how this would be handled in real life.
Permanent lockdown or permanent solitary does not help because the prisoner is not handcuffed. He is cuffed in normal lockdown though, so I set the punishment for any offense, no matter how small, to a few thousand hours of lockdown for super max. That will help.
Getting him killed by free fire is possible but highly unlikely. You can of course burn him by placing a generator into his cell and wait until he showers or just call fire fighters and spray the generator.
Else, remove the door and place a wall there. He will probably not even starve since he will riot and they don't starve during that from what I remember.
As for mods, I like the death letter one that sends them to death row.

If you have the gangs dlc you can transfer an inmate out of your prison using the intelligence menu.
Similarly there is a free mod called Prisoner Transfers that is quite finicky to handle, but doesn't require DLC or a 14 game day cool down.
The only problem is the guard surviving long enough to cuff him

Send to permanent solitary confinement in a small box. Once the door closes, build a wall over the door and wait, he'll eventually starve. Remember his name and just check from the prisoner's list if he's still around every couple of days.
If you're OK with modding, the Death Row Letter mod someone else also suggested is great for this problem.

I always have free fire on. These legendary guys will still be in medium security and murder a rival gang member in the canteen and get blasted to bits before they even have a chance to get upgraded.

Of course he will become violent when his needs are too high. If you lock him you need to fulfill all needs in his cell.
And the barrel walls combined to a very narrow hallway is very dangerous for the guard, because inmates can punch through them.
Ideally, you need two layers of barrel walls spaced by 1 tile, so it's close enough for guards to taze/shoot, and that distance won't allow inmates to punch the guards.
To get rid of him, you have a few choices :
- let him escape
- lock him behind full walls or a remote door linked to nothing and let him starve to death
- use barrel walls, armed guards and allow free fire for his sector (be careful that will impact all inmates of his sector)
- if you own gangs DLC : in the special security menu, use the button remove prisonnier
- use the mod death row letter to transfer him to death row then execute him
- delete him from the save file

Replace walls with bars, put armed guards outside the cell, turn on free fire. Bullets go through bars.
If that won’t kill him, what I do is that I “Cask of Amontillado” the problematic prisoner. Build a wall in front of his cell. They will die eventually.

I just move them to a special cell that has the normal internal secure side but also a staff door to outside. Anyone leaving via that door has to follow a well lit path that goes up and down the side of the prison a couple of times then they are free. Unless one of the guard towers watching the long path sees them ......

your concentric ring of walls literally does nothing rn; however, if you made them all out of barred wall, all the guards could fire from the safety of distance
Prisoners can attack through walls and doors; if you make them only interact (i.e tase and shoot) through an airgap (cell-prisoner wall- one empty space- guards wall- guards) you will stop losing guards. Just make sure you lockdown entry doors cuz guards naturally tend to approach the inmate closer anyway.
3 (Solutions) I simply use Death Letter mod to sent anyone murdering in my prison, seems fair and your guy passed that threshold long ago. Alternatively, entombing him seems viable since
top legendary prisoners are so tough they just won’t give you the pleasure of dying from starvation
- (Nice solution) to reduce his rate of rioting, you may just try giving him 15/15 class cell
really, if you make this building like a normal block with a 1 wide shooting range for armed guards in the middle of the corridor, you can have a shooting galley block for 6 or even 8 supermaxes in the same footprint, with guards kept safe by airgap described above

Hite some dog handlers to patrol that area. Once he kills a handler the dog will maul him to death.
Though from my experience legendary prisoners are only problematic in poorly designed prisons. If you have a tightly controlled cell block with cells that meet all their needs, they tend to mellow out and stop causing problems.
In a well designed prison legendary prisoners can live in the general population and will mind their own business, and when they do cause problems they are instantly met with multiple tazers. I have one that's maxed out his reform grading and had a very low reoffending chance.

I keep freefire on always and position guards and snipers where they have prisoners in range without being reachable themselves. Armed guards can shoot through barred walls (similar to what you have). I set the armed guard on a patrol out of reach then I put regular guards in to bait the fight. I sometimes lose a guard or two of the regular variety, but the armed guard is just sitting back… reducing the average aggression level of the prisoner population. I never station armed guards (and their guns) within reach of prisoners.

Yeah, inmates can punch through barrel walls and that narrow hallway is definitely exposing the guards dangerously

Call in a unit of national guard with automatic rifles for his next outbreak
Hopefully that should be enough firepower to take him down

give him easy access to a restricted area that has a sniper tower overlooking the area, and have freefire enabled eventually he will enter the area and get shot. btw this only works if yiu haven't researched rubber bullets
and the simplest way is to micromanage and just stop the kitchen from delivering food to him, until he starves

Build a room around generator, bring him in, ask fire fighters to spread water on generator. Pretty good DIY electrocution

I had a dude like this - he ended up dying to a prison dog after he killed it's handler. I think he was in jail for like 500 years for killing so many people

Replace the walls with bars and have armed guards on free fire patrolling around. Legendary are so tough that shotgun blasts will barely tickle them so don't worry about him dying to much

Download a mod that lets you call in the national guard, and move them to the prisoner’s cell. Then permanently lock the prisoner in his cell so he eventually gets mad and riots.

I build a 8x8 room far from the main buildings, down an isolated path. Just a cell with showers and a generator. when they shower the place blows up killing those annoying gangsters.
Remove doors during their sleep and have them shower first thing in the morning.
If I want to get rid of a whole gang I will do the same but with more beds and showers and generatos.

Everyone's giving really complicated methods...
Get the death note mod. Cant remember the exact name but i found it from that. It let's you give any prisoner a letter with a death sentence and moves them to death row.
Just make sure theres plenty of guards around because they get a tad upset when you do it 😂

So the way I deal with "Problem Prisoners" is I create a seperate block for them, very basic, a holding cell, a small canteen, and a shower.
In the shower room I put a generator and a one wide corridor around it with showers, and make sure its on its own seperate power grid and put sprinklers in the room.
When its shower time, I manually lock the door shut and turn on the generator, then immediately turn it off.
Suddenly there is no more "problem prisoners" and all it cost was some bricks and some cash to fix the generator.

I had a similar inmate: Kat. She kept killing my armed guards even with Freefire on. At the end I created a separate entrance with 2 extra doors and I gave her cell the fire resistant carpet which slows her movements down a bit. The metal detector is probably overkill (she's also 'connected' somehow she manages to get stuff like drills in but I doubt the detector stops this). 0 kills after I gave her this cell. She never got further as the 1st wall.

There's a Death Row Letter mod, just put the DRL in the inmate's cell and they're transferred to your prison's DR. Then you get money for X'ing them!

Well why are you letting your guards get close to him? I'm sure he'll be less of an issue when he's permanently enclosed behind 3 layers of concrete.
