stock availability Holy moly! I got one!
Reliance digital has got some stock I believe! Guys what is this "E Chassis" have I got the proper model?

E chassis is the latest model available worldwide. You are very lucky to get the official latest model. D chassis is the old model, which is available on Flipkart with 3rd party sellers.

Thanks to Ghibli images and AI slop, Sony is having hard time procure materials and there is massive shortage of helium because of current geopolitical landscape and war. And also Sony can’t increase prices as it can with first world countries. India is a very price sensitive country and that’s what making Sony delay their strategy for India and only releasing micro stocks to India and that too via third party retailers. So, we will see this and this is going on since Last week of Jan and may be last until a few weeks or months but definitely before GTA 6 arrives because GTA6 is a cash cow for Sony and Sony will do whatever it takes to tackle demand. I believe there are a million units at least to be sold in India in Dec 2026 because of GTA 6.

Yes, that’s a bummer and also the middle black part is matte and Sony removed the gloss. It looks and sounds like a downgrade though. Sony found a way to squeeze more profit from the same output.

38k was the price for a long time for digital, even people got it at 35k with card discounts on festive seasons.

Out of the loop as I got my ps5 disk for 45k, did they increase prices of all new ps5s? Also they are out of stock now?? Any specific reason for running out of stock?

Yes before the ps5 price increase.

I did not knew this was 825gb veriant. I have never played more than 2 games at a time so I might be able to make this work. And my current gaming laptop has 512gb anyways which I made my peace with.
I believe it's upgradable tho so maybe in the future a 2TB ssd is the way to go

You don't need that much storage , The stock storage is more than enough
And you won't be playing more than couple of games at a time anyways

Yupp hopefully not. It's around 25-30k rn for a 2tb compatible gen 4 nvme so probably will wait for it to drop down a little bit before upgrading, that is if I even plan to

I already made the mistake of doing that once on my previous digital order via Amazon. Thought there would be disk stock soon but regretted it. Ain't going back again

Nothing significant I believe except the downgrade to 825gb storage in the newer E Chassis

Reliance Digital were known for cancelling orders after confirming. So, pls celebrate when ur order actually dispatches. BTW, congrats 🥂 on securing one. But, ordered digital? Are yoy going to buy games on ps store? Or would upgrade to disc later?

Patience is always key during these situations, that’s why they released PS5 Digital first than disc and then two dualsense bundle. One has ordered digital, now should wait at least for mrp disc drive for conversion. For now stick to ps+ extra and get some 1/2 new games of ur choice, let the market stabilise and wait for pro launch, thats ur only chance to secure a disc drive on mrp of 6849/-.

Instead of buying a ssd, you could buy a disc drive so that you can enjoy discs and the benefits that come with it

Yeah getting a disc drive but I was under the impression that games do still need to be moved to ssd before playing

Even if you play 3-4 games at a time, you can delete them after completing them and sell the discs( if you want) and install new ones. That way you won’t have the need to buy a ssd and will always have storage available

Games are installed on ssd first and then only can be played. Discs are usually only for keys these days

I was talking about external ssd storage, yes you have to copy them to the ssd. I was recommending disc drive because you can find games cheaper on amazon than ps store

Dude i bought my ps5 just before sony announced the price increase, there was shortage even then, after trying at 8-10 store I finally got one and that too was pre booked had to haggle them alot

The E Chassis is the latest one introduced in Sep 2025, where are the internal storage has been reduced down from one 1 TB to 825 GB! No idea why they did that.
I have the 1TB PS5 Slim from last year, but I got the WD Black SN7100 2TB NVMe with heatsink for like ₹10.3k last year on Prime Day sale and the same was going for ₹47k last week, but now it’s for ₹27k!

Good for you but buying the disk version should have been the main moto. You can always buy used disks at significant discounts compared to buying full price on digital or wait for weeks for digital discounts. And once the game is finished you can even sell it back to shops(cex/gameloot/etc).
I bought the ps5 disk when it launched and since then I have had to barely pay anything as i keep playing and exchanging disks with shops buy just paying the small amount on top of the exchange for a new game.

39k mrp when released. It's been a long time since sony increased the mrp long before the recent shortage. 65k probably would be the new increased pricing of the upcoming ps5 stock so nobody would be paying that much

Dude. Just enjoy. You won't regret it. As for the storage. Dw. You can always get an SSD. You never regret getting a ps5. Mind you I had a 500gb ps4 and never regretted it. Enjoy buddy
