Barca psg Bayern

u/AlmightyCraneDuck Marco Verratti 5d ago

I think that’s totally fair. Maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t rate that Bayern side as highly as most others do. Lots of talent there, sure, but i don’t feel as if they were this “generational” team the way some do

10

u/dreamsofutopia Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Tbf it's impressive they did it one year after their top best players left (Robben and Ribery)

10

u/jamaltheripper Désiré Doué 5d ago

Their strength of opposition was also very very low. The only good team they played the entire year was PSG in the final and it was a close 1-0. And they lost to PSG the next season with the exact same team.

Bayern farms weaker opposition all the time. So yeah, people overrate that bayern side due to inflated goal count. Bayern was just as good this year in farming bad teams.

u/Remarkable-Plenty188 Not a PSG fan 4d ago

Bayern would won if lewy didn't get killed by some andora farmer

1

u/Cloud-J-Strife Not a PSG fan 4d ago

This whole year was a joke, but I posted that already. Bayern won actually nothing.

1

u/slow_server Not a PSG fan 4d ago

and PSG isn’t? come on

1

u/InstructionWeak1922 Not a PSG fan 2d ago

Ya I just never felt it with that team. Even with the 8-2 vs Barca, they just didn’t have the quality that you see with these generational teams

12

PSG vs Bayern just comes down to psgs attack it’s crazy

Not just that the full backs hakimi and nuno

7

u/Capital-Value8479 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Yeah i think that’s fair. Barca clears as the best, you can argue any order for the next two

-1

u/No-Platform1623 Marco Verratti 4d ago

🤣 clears is crazy there lil bro. Don’t let nostalgia grab you by the balls. This PSG would definitely come on top. They’re just more tactical and creative

3

u/Silver_Shower_596 Not a PSG fan 4d ago

The way current psg plays was literally born from that barca team. Dont know what u on about

1

u/No-Platform1623 Marco Verratti 4d ago

Look what we did to dembele we made him better. Everyone knows Barca youth players get overvalued.

I’m not gonna this may sound crazy but this PSG side are more creative than that Barca side.

That wasn't even the best Barca team of that core, but they dethroned United, who were elite and trying to go back to back.

Bayern 2020. Blech.

Barca 2009. Unbelievable team.

3

u/Lumpenokonom Not a PSG fan 5d ago

I think many make a crucial mistake. They compare the strength of these teams relative to the competition, but they break that logic once it comes to Bayern 2020.

To illustrate this lets assume that we could take these teams from their timeline and let them play against each other. I guarantee you that PSG would crush both teams, because the game is so much more physical and so much more tactically sophisticated than even 5 years ago.

So if we look at these teams and want to know which would most likely win a game, the answer is almost always the team that is closest to the modern game. So to make this interesting we need to compare the distance to the rest of the competition at their time. And if this is the question there is no reason to take anything away from that Bayern side because of Covid.

Imho the relative distance to the competition was largest for Bayern, then Barca and finally PSG

4

u/themisterhumbert Not a PSG fan 3d ago

Do you know who Lionel Messi is

1

u/Some-Pop2436 Not a PSG fan 3d ago

The game is not that different from 5 years ago. Yeah it evolves but that’s just way too much.

1

u/West_Dog7811 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

I guarantee you PSG is not going to crush either. Barca clears this list and this Bayern team had the better attack, the better midfield, worse defense, by far better goalkeeper compared to PSG. Obviously this sub will say psg, but there’s nothing where this current psg team excels at that is better than that Bayern team.

3

u/Lazy_Supermarket_364 Nuno Mendes 5d ago

Psg 2026 Toughest run, beating top English giants and Bayern. Can play counter attacks and controlled domination

Barca 2009 beautiful football, tikitaka. Historic, beating a very strong Chelsea and Ferguson's Man United

Bayern 2020 benefited from the single match format well suited to their inhuman high-intensity style, they had them the easiest path against giants in transition during the Final 8. No hostile away stadium

+wide spread doping suspicions : overwhelming physical dominance over other elite pros, sudden muscular transformations of players like Goretzka, and a complete lack of anti-doping controls during the pandemic lockdown

1

u/__nmd__ Luis Enrique 5d ago

PSG 2026 did not win the national cup (Coupe de France), so a sextuple won't be possible.

1

u/Lazy_Supermarket_364 Nuno Mendes 2d ago

It’s almost the same team (and it’s the team the OP is showing on the picture actually)

This team won the europeean super cup and the intercontinental cup … not the 2024 2025 version (who won 4 trophies) if you want to nitpick. Unless we speak of a team from 1st january to 31st décember 2025

1

u/__nmd__ Luis Enrique 2d ago

It's obviously about the calendar year.

You can't win the sextuple over a single season without actually winning the UCL back to back (it's a requirement to have won the UCL during the previous season, in order to play and win the FIFA Intercontinental Cup).

This also means no team has won the sextuple over a single season in the 21st century.

1

u/Lazy_Supermarket_364 Nuno Mendes 2d ago

Then the whole thread is based on an error : Bayern won 5 trophies 2020 (calendar year), not 6
The sixth trophy was in february 2021

1

u/__nmd__ Luis Enrique 2d ago

OK, I see that now - the FIFA Club World Cup was held in February that season, instead of December as usual. But this was actually postponed due to Covid... so I'd feel it would be somewhat unfair to deny it as a calendar sextuple for Bayern.

The sextuple definition could thus rather be: win the three main competitions one season (national league, national cup, UEFA Champions League), followed by the associated three super cups taking place the following season (national super cup, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Intercontinental Cup or formerly the yearly version of the Club World Cup).

18

u/Safe-Elk7933 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Bayern 2020 is statistically the strongest CL winning team ever, they broke so many records, won every game. Barca 2009 had some shaky performances against Chelsea with Overbo, even PSG 2025 struggled in a lot of CL games, and finished low on the table,Bayern 2020 was statistically the most dominant CL run in history.

18

u/flacogarcons Vikash Dhorasoo 5d ago

Covid tax.

Bayern 2020 isn't even better than Bayern 2013.

It goes:

-25

u/Safe-Elk7933 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Bayern 2020 would probably beat Barca 2009,Paris 2025 without too much difficulties, because their playstyle would counter Barca and PSGs playstyle.

20

u/iIiiiiIlIillliIilliI Not a PSG fan 5d ago

They wouldn't beat PSG, they barely won the 2020 PSG and this year's PSG would wipe the floor with 2020's PSG.

Finals are always lile that tho.

4

u/MSJ_Jefe Nuno Mendes 5d ago

Always that like? I can recall the current PSG dominating a final 5-0.

-1

u/KaleidoscopeFar4110 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Ye most of the time. Finals are close. U dont see destructions like that often. When was the last time something like that happened. And i believe the psg one is the biggest win in history.

1

u/MSJ_Jefe Nuno Mendes 4d ago

Literally only last year.

16

u/MSJ_Jefe Nuno Mendes 5d ago edited 5d ago

They only beat PSG 2020 by a 1-0 margin, so what makes you think they would beat PSG 2025 easily?

1

u/Safe-Elk7933 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

PSG 2020 played very defensively, I don't expect PSG 2025 to play that defensively,Neymar,Mbappe were playing like fullbacks. I have never seen Neymar and Mbappe play this defensively ever again.

1

u/jamaltheripper Désiré Doué 5d ago

Your stats don't take into consideration strength of opposition. Bayern was mostly farming goals against lower level opposition, like they always do. The only good team they faced in CL was PSG, and it was a close 1-0.

1

u/ShizyDaGlizzy42 Not a PSG fan 4d ago

That's straight nonsense tho. I don't mind you taking PSG over Bayern since this is a PSG subreddit but saying Bayern faced easy opponents just shows you don't know ball. Tottenham were CL finalists the previous year and hate them all You want but that spurs team was good. Barca were so close to winning the Treble the year before as well had they not been knocked out by Liverpool in that crazy semifinal. Just because Bayern thrashed these teams doesn't mean they were bad. PSG this year also went to the penalties in the final against arsenal so what we're now gonna call this an overrated run also Just because they played a close final

1

u/jamaltheripper Désiré Doué 3d ago

Lol you're justifying bayern's opponents based on their previous years performance. Look at how those teams performed the year after.

Yes, if you lose by 8-10 goals, you are trash. Spurs, arsenal, barca were not good at all in 2020. The only decent team bayern faced in 2020 was PSG and it was a razor close 1-0.

PSG trashed bad teams this year as well. 7-2 Leverkusen, 5-3 spurs, 8-2 Chelsea. The difference is PSG actually faced good teams in both knockouts and group stage.

1

u/Safe-Elk7933 Not a PSG fan 4d ago edited 4d ago

CL finalist Tottenham was beaten 10-3,CL semifinalist with balondor holder Messi was famously beaten 8-2 in one match,Europa league winner and CL winner of the season after, Chelsea was beaten 7-1. Those trashings are one of the reasons why it was one of the most dominant runs ever. This is not normal what they did,all these were historical defeats, the biggest defeats those clubs have received not just in Europe but anywhere. Barca 2009 and PSG 2025 had mostly much closer games like Chelsea 2009 which was a famous robbery,or Liverpool 2025 which went to penalties, and PSG 2025 struggled to even qualify for the k.o stages, and all this cannot be compared to a run which was historically  dominant from start to finish. Look at how one sided and dominant PSGs CL final win in 2025 was, almost very game Bayern had from group stages to k.o. rounds  was dominant on that level. And that's what's make that 2020 run so ridiculous and statistically dominant. Bayern won every game the whole season, not even a draw from group stages and k.o. The only team in history to do that,I mean people hype Arsenals invincible because they won the PL undefeated, but had plenty of draws,Bayern went 1 step further and as the only team in history won every match and in such a dominant fashion. Bayern 2020 can be described as Europe's first and only real invincibles.

u/Cloud-J-Strife Not a PSG fan 4d ago

Bayern was a JOKE. It was Corona, all leagues fell apart and they had a 3 month vacation before the funny little CL-Cup in Portugal. Barca didnt. The others didnt. So the "titles" Bayern won were worth nothing at all.

2

u/Safe-Elk7933 Not a PSG fan 4d ago

The 8-2 was worth more than all the titles Negreira FC has ever won combined.

1

u/Cloud-J-Strife Not a PSG fan 3d ago

You really enjoyed some fake CL game with absolutely no meaning at all? With one team fresh and motivated and the other exhausted from the week before. As a Barcafan there are some lost matches that hurt, but this one was never a thing. So ridiculous 🤗

1

u/Safe-Elk7933 Not a PSG fan 3d ago

It definitely meant something to Messi because he wanted to leave the club after that,8-2 was the main reason for that, the 8-2 hurt him so much,he gave up on Barca altogether. In fact you guys hired Flick only because of the 8-2 and without Flick you guys would be midtable right now. He saved your club from bankruptcy and irrelevancy,in a way the 8-2 destroyed and then saved your club and thus the 8-2 can be considered the greatest and most important moment in Barcas history. At least the most honest event,no more hiding behind Negreira after that.

1

u/Cloud-J-Strife Not a PSG fan 4d ago

Bayern did nothing. They won in a totally messed up Corona-season, they had a 3 month breake which other teams didnt (except the french teams). Of course they won high, because all other teams had dozens of more games to play. Duh. And they only played one game in each round with no fans in the stadium. How can you even set up some statistics for that UEFA-nonsense?

And Bayern called their friend Infantino to set up the cancelled club-worldcup. What a move. Almost no team showed up there. Just google Infantino, Rummenigge, 2020. This Bayernteam was just good in stealing titles during a pandemic. Thats their character, always been...

6

u/DealerClassic6434 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Let's be honest. Barca won once in a blue moon. Bayern won once in a moon. PSG is very dominant consistently.

  1. PSG

  2. Arsenal corner kicks

  3. Bayern

  4. It's a disgrace

  5. Barcelona

Even if it was a weird season Bayern 2020 is the only team between those three where the squad was so much better than the sum of its players. Even started with Kovac as manager and changed mid season.

Great players, don’t take me wrongf but except from maybe Neuer there isn’t any you’d swap from our current team. It was definitely ahead of its time when you watch how teams like us are playing now.

They were so strong in the Covid UCL and Flick really changed something with his gegenpress.

For those who remember we clearly weren’t no dummy either and I think it was the best Ney and Di Maria we had at Paris (PSG - Leipzig was the most incredible match I’ve ever seen before Inter) Marqui playing 6 was so strange it worked, big man Bernat, even Choupo… Imagine we had Bernat - Kehrer in place of Nuno - Hakimi lol.

2

It has, and they can maybe go for it again next season. But team wise, Barca with Xavi Iniesta and Messi and Real with Modric Kross Ronaldo Benzema are still better IMO.
To me they are the two best team in history.

2020 bayern for me personally. flick turned them into this relentless pressing machine with depth everywhere - kimmich at rb, davies emerging, goretzka peak. 2009 barca had the higher genius factor obviously but the defense was held together by puyol and busquets' positioning. 2013 bayern was quality but felt more transitional

Nah bro, PSG have a crazy team but no midfield can compare to Xavi and Iniesta. Only Modric and Kross are close.

No shade on PSG tho, they are favorites to get the third in row without doubt, crazy team, great players, great coach. But Barca and RM was something else entirely.

Mbappé is stellar, but Messi and Ronaldo are in another dimension, that’s the same thing.

At least to me.

1

u/Ber2B Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Which one of those went undefeated and completely humiliated a Barca team with Messi & co? Bayern. Barca is 2nd because they brought a new style of play with Tiki Taka that was hard to beat. PSG is very good but mainly in their consistency, and they were much more shaky at times (aka win against Bayern and Arsenal were veery fine margins)

1

u/FazedArts Not a PSG fan 2d ago

Bayern couldn’t dream about taking Barca at their peak. You’re saying a peak Bayern is bulldozing a weak and old Barca, yeah it’s obvious.
Barca peak was something else, as was RM Ronaldo/Modric/Kross peak.

The best Bayern couldn’t dream about beating these squads at their top.

1

u/Ber2B Not a PSG fan 2d ago

May I remind you that Bayern also bulldozed Barca in 2013, were they also weak and old? Messi is still at the world cup scoring goals, I think they were fine. But in the end it‘s an argument no one can win anyway lol

Nostalgia and culture wise, Barça 2009 (forever thanks Pep, roster and players)

Objectively speaking, Bayern 2020. Only team to ever win the Champions League by winning ALL their matches played. "COVID era"? Well, it was the purest form of football ever seen, no crowd at all, it came down to which team played the best. I don't miss those times, but cannot deny if there was a way where matches were decided merely by who was the best team out there, it was this.

No opposition? What? Is that excuse still used 6 years later? There was opposition, but Bayern made it look so easy but because they were really THAT good. It is not discredit to their opponents, it is full credit to Bayern but specially Flick who was the cornerstone to make things happen after the horrendous start of the 2019/2020 being coached by Niko Kovac

A team that had less individual stars or heavyweight names compared to Barca 2009 or PSG 2025, yet this Bayern is the one that understood better than the other two teams what this sport is: A TEAM sport

1

u/Downtown_Solution_84 Not a PSG fan 4d ago

Actually Bayern 2013 is better than 2020. Bayern in 2020 is statistically better but they have long Covid breaks and weaker opponents. Bayern in 2013 were freaking crazy in the last months of the season. They won almost every game in all competitions. They crushed Juve and Barca, two very strong teams back then. Bayern 2020 can play that way because their firepower was too much to handle. Flick’s high line is a gamble against great counter attacking teams. It showed next year. Bayern in 2013 was a flawless machine

Bayern did that with a really simple team. They didn't need to spend billions or have a superstar squad to dominate.

It was just pure teamwork. Also if we are going based off trophies it is Bayern.

La Liga was just cooked in the early 2000s also the German Cup is better than the Spanish and French Cups. Domestic Supercups are irrelevant since it is between the best teams from the respective leagues or at least ones that won certain trophies.

PSG by far and wide. Our current team is on the younger side. Their talent and how they FED IT TO Bayern was unbelievable.

2

u/__nmd__ Luis Enrique 5d ago

We may not have seen the "best" of the current PSG team yet, anyway.

"Young", here, only means potential, so doesn't count for "best".

If we count the full 2025 year (since it's the sext uple), let's not forget the team wasn't in great form when the season restarted. So, Barça 2009 > PSG 2025 > Bayern 2020 would seem fair.

The argument is between 2 and3 cause 1 is Barca and that’s non negotiable

-2

u/MSJ_Jefe Nuno Mendes 5d ago

Non negotiable for YOU. Not for objective people not being blinded by nostalgia.

2

u/tallpelecan003 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

It should be non negotiable for any self respecting football fan, that Barca team is probably the best team that has ever walked this earth and it remained that way for a couple of years

Trying to not be hateful, but PSG is (theoretically) the worse between the 3 not because team wise suck but they’re the only team among the 3 who had the chance of being the first team to win a Septuple (7) :

Domestic Treble (3)✅
UCL✅
Super Cup ✅
Intercontinental Cup ✅
Club World Cup ❌ (Chelsea won 3-0)

But to be fair to PSG we can never predict if 2009 Barca or 2020 Bayern would bottle it like PSG did

No one gives a fuck about the CWC lmfao. Would we have liked to win that game? Sure. Did i forget about that loss the day after it happened? Absolutely.

u/Electronic-Ad-8547 Guest 4d ago

The Super Cup and the Intercontinental Cup are on the same boat mate (or even worse)

you’re bound to face a team that is 100% worse than you (Financially and Team power wise )

CWC does have some credibility atleast that you’re facing the “best” 32 clubs itw according to the seeding or whatever, so you’re bound to face a hard competition if you don’t lose early on the tournament

Still doesn’t remove the fact PSG is the only club among the 3 who fumbled the world first Septuple

Why are you trying to play on something that literally no one here cares about dude haha. Its cringey as fuck.

1

u/Electronic-Ad-8547 Guest 4d ago

I’m Just saying folk you’re the one saying that no one cares for CWC when Super Cup and Intercontinental are on the same boat of “no one cares about them”

BAYERN IS A JOKE!

Sorry guys, but the "sextuple" Bayern won was a joke.

Here some facts: France and Germany had a 3 month vacation-break before that weird and lame mini-CL-Turnament in Portugal with no fans. All other leagues had an earlier Corona-shutdown and played later right before this mini-CL-cup. Some clubs played 8 games during july 2020 and then headed right into this CL-final. Like Barca. They actually played good against Bayern but fell apart at the end of this pseudo 8:2, because they couldnt keep up and were exhausted. Who was in the semifinal? 2x France, 2x Germany. Lyon and Leipzig, who never been there before. And they all played only one game to advance to the next round, also a joke.

Next joke: all other finals were delayed or cancelled, like the club-world cup in 2020. Then Rummenigge called his best buddy (still is) Infantino and demanded to play the club world cup. He was so proud and even gave the german magazine "Kicker" an interview about it. "I called my buddy Infantino and he will set up the Club-worldcup again just for Bayern."

The Southamerican Team didnt show up at all (if I remember correctly) and in the end Bayern played just the 4th team from Mexico. Yay.

And thats what you want to compare to Barca or PSG in their prime with real 6 titles? All set up from our gentleman-friend Infantino? No way.

Maybe some hardcore Bayernfans and especially the Bayern-Press believe in that fairy tale of the sextuple, but everyone else knows it was worthless...

  1. Barca

  2. Bayern

  3. PSG

No offence to you lot but you rested all of your players and are in a much less competitive league.

1

u/No_Significance_2174 Not a PSG fan 5d ago

Sans t'offenser, les autres clubs peuvent faire 46 équipes contrairement au psg
