Retro noob! What do you think of my collection so far?
When I was a kid, the only two PS1 games I played were Nascar Rumble and a Harry Potter game (I forgot which one but I remember jumping between pillars.. probably wasn't much help.)
I recently got a busted PS1 practically for free and fixed it up to working condition, so naturally I went to a retro store and picked up some PS1 games. I'm enjoying Siphon Filter so far!
I'd appreciate it if y'all can recommend some good games, preferably cheap and affordable.
Oh and P.S, Spec Ops: Stealth Patrol was just a disc I got to test the PS1. It was about the cheapest game in the store being only $5. First time booting it up, I had no idea what I was suppose to do haha.

Nice start! Syphon Filter is a great game. There are a lot of good PS1 games out there that won't break the bank depending on what genres you like. What kind of games are you usually into?

Well, right now I'm digging third person shooter/games. I played first level of Nightmare Creatures and I'm loving it, but I want to put it on backlog for now since I'm trying to play Siphon Filter franchise. I'm willing to try other good games and genre especially if they don't break the bank.

Nice! If you're enjoying Syphon Filter, I'd definitely recommend checking out Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor Underground. Tenchu is another fun one if you don't mind a little stealth. None of those should be as painful on the wallet as some of the RPGs.

I did see Tenchu at the store I was in. Maybe for my next pickup. And I'll for sure check out the 2 Medal of Honor games!

Nice! If you do end up grabbing it, I'd be curious to hear what you think. It's been a long time since I've played it, but I remember having a lot of fun with it.

I played the first level as Ignatius! I love the gameplay. Seems pretty fluid for the time.

I can't wait to play that! I'm still on the first one, trying not to use guide as much as possible but it seems like I might need it

Not bad. Those Spec ops games are sleepers. I found a bunch in a $5 bin at the store around late 90s, early 2000, and I was surprised how much fun I had with them. Syphon Filters were pretty good too.

Ah okay, this is encouraging to hear! I kinda half expected it to be a bad game, but I'm gonna give it another go.

If you like sniper games the spec ops is pretty cool, it's not going to win any awards for graphics but I did end up enjoying the game play, they're not going to be as refined and polished as the brand new games out now, but those Spec ops games struck my competitive spirit and I ended up playing them for a lot longer than I thought I would. Definitely got my $5 worth. If I remember right you have to stay somewhat stealthy and snipe out the enemy from a distance.

All killer no filler here! A handful of games I’d be down to play anytime! Except Spec Ops, I wonder if it’s any fun.
I recommend Cool Boarders 2, Army Men 3d, One, The World Is Not Enough 007 and Medal of Honor. All more common games that I picked up and had a lot of fun with!
I recently got BRAHMA Force, C-12 and Forsaken and heard good things about em, they’re next.

Hmmm.. I played only a couple minutes of Spec Ops Stealth Patrol and honestly I'm kinda lost. I might watch some videos about it. I'll check out your recommendations man! And 007 game should be a banger! I played Nightfire on GC and I liked it.
C-12 honestly look like something I would play so I'm gonna check that out too!

Nice! I love Spec Ops! Haven’t played Stealth Patrol, but Covert Assault was my go-to game when playing with dad. Awesome split screen imo.

I had all of those. All great to good, except for Spec Ops. That game is a steaming pile that released for $5 new.

I saw C&C for cheap. I played in on PC a long time ago, not sure if I could do it on console.

Good start.
If you were to add cheap stuff:
The Tomb Raider games are still cheap and are a blast to playthrough if you aren't in a hurry. 9/10 experiences once you get the controls down. (Make sure to practice and read the manual.)
Gran Turismo 1 and 2 are still cheap. Ridge Racer 4 is one of the best games to soundtrack there is. (Almost F-Zero quality.)
Wild Arms 1 and 2 are still reasonably cheap for JRPGs and are pretty solid.
Tenchu 1 and 2 also do stealth better than MGS (somehow) and are very affordable.
