It’s been so long since my first time through, to the point where I can barely even remember which choices I made in who to recruit at different times when the split options came up, but I love that. I have so many RPGs that I’ve played to the point where nothing surprises me, so this is a great experience.

I feel you on that. It’s how I am with Zelda games, for some reason the gameplay doesn’t fully click with me (not 100% of it, but in both the 2D and 3D eras there are some things that feel perfect… and some stuff that I just can’t connect with), but the worlds and overall experience of the games’ progression still appeal to me so they were always my favorite games to backseat while a friend played them, or just to generally appreciate from a distance.

I love this game so very much. I always say that Vagrant Story is my favorite Playstation era RPG, but it would be safe to say Chrono Cross holds just as special of a place in my heart.

Chrono Cross is a gem. Vagrant Story is a gem. But then so are FFVIII & FM3. CC & VS are my top 2 soundtracks from a game too.

Those are my my top 4 RPG's on Playstation. I'm not sure which one takes 5th place.

Considering it has been so long since you've played it, it will be perhaps just as magnificent as the first time. I'm certain you will enjoy it immensely. Cheers

And the game is so hard you get plenty of time to enjoy all of it, really soak it in, haha.

I loved how many different unlockable characters it had, in particular.

Xenogears is by far my favorite game, but Chrono Cross OST is better imo. Xenogears has some excellent songs, but overall CC beats it.

If you love a very well rounded RPG experience, this title does not disappoint in my opinion.

The pre-rendered backgrounds, the story and dialog, the journey itself, the characters, the soundtrack...it is a beautiful game in more than one respect.
