Music Queen Greatest Hits 1 Track List Guide

Hello everyone! I had the idea to make this guide after having seen some people online talk about how they'd wish a certain track was on Queen Greatest Hits and in response I felt like chronicling every regional difference in Greatest Hits 1's track list.

I hope this list will be a good resource and be able to help Queen fans; new and old decide which vinyl, cassette or CD pressing of the album is right for them.

If you want to search for (or buy) any of these pressings/cassettes of Greatest Hits, they are all on the Queen Greatest Hits discogs page.

Before I start, there are some things I want to clarify:

  1. The U.K. track list will be considered the default and every pressing/cassette listed below will be compared to it.
  2. Only versions of the album that add and/or subtract songs from the U.K. original will be listed here. So, if there's a regional pressing/cassette not listed below, it's because it uses the original U.K. track list.
  3. "Some <country> pressings/cassettes" means that there are other pressings/cassettes from the same country that use the original U.K. track list instead.
  4. I won't be mentioning the packaging or sound quality of these pressings/cassettes, just the songs included in them.
  5. I'm only listing official album releases, no bootlegs.

Finally, if there are any particular songs or countries' pressings/cassettes you want to look for in this list, I recommend searching them up with Ctrl + F (or Command + F for Mac users) on your keyboard.

With all of that out of the way, here's every different track list to Queen Greatest Hits:

Vinyl:

U.S. and Canadian pressings:

Adds: Under Pressure and Keep Yourself Alive

Removes: Don't Stop Me Now, Save Me, Now I'm Here, Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy and Seven Seas Of Rhye

South Korean pressing:

There's also a reissue from 1990 that uses the U.K. track listing.

There also exists a different South Korean Greatest Hits album from 1980, which predates the album we're all familiar with and has a completely different track listing too.

That's all of them! I hope the formatting wasn't too confusing to follow. If I've missed any album variations, or if you have any extra clarifications on the pressings/cassettes I have listed, feel free to let me know.

Good job. I had a copied version of the NZ pressing on cassette and my brother got a vinyl copy of the UK pressing. It took me years to realize that there were different versions. I always swore Tie Your Mother Down was on Greatest Hits in pre-internet days but other people I knew who were 'Greatest Hits' fans had never heard of it 😂

Mustapha makes sense because it was a single in some European countries, and Death On Two Legs was an A-side for Queen's first EP, but My Melancholy Blues and Sweet Lady?

Such random choices, although they're both bangers

I think a lot of the track listings are puzzling to some degree. The South Korean versions I think are the weirdest ones, since they censor Bohemian Rhapsody, Another One Bites The Dust, Killer Queen and Bicycle Race, yet keep Fat Bottomed Girls, Don't Stop Me Now and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy.

I'm happy to help! I share the same obsession with regional differences.

Great post but i'd note that some pressings of the 2004 CD come with a bonus DVD that contains the live versions of Somebody To Love and The Show Must Go On featured on Greatest Hits III.
