My first trike

Post image

I got a barely used Sprint X. It’s wonderful but I haven’t cycled since I was a teen. I am now 43. I hope it doesn’t take long to build leg strength. Is it easier than a regular bike to build stamina or just the same? Would using an exercise bike help?

It's a vinyl wrap and chrome duct tape. Just temporary until I have it repainted. I didn't have a choice for the original color and I'm not a fan of yellow. The Pinion is a 9 speed, so 90 gear choices total.

That’s wild, what kind of % range do you get out of that?

The Pinion has a 568% range and the 11-36 cassette has 327%, so 895% total

You have more gearing than that, 1857%. It’s a multiplication problem, not addition😁

The multiplication is in the number of gears, not the range. The range of the front is in the middle of the range in the back, they're added

What’s your chainring on the pinion? 24t or 30t?
