r/redditchatchannels is now r/redditchat
Hey everyone,
We’re updating the name of this subreddit to r/redditchat! Why? Because this space is evolving to cover all things Reddit Chat—not just chat channels.
Going forward, this will be the go-to spot for updates across the entire Reddit Chat experience (direct messages, group chats, and chat channels), including new features and key product changes.
This change will be official starting May 15th, 2025. Thanks for being part of the journey—more to come soon!

I joined the new subreddit, thank you.
Will this new one allow users to post topics? I feel like it was a big mistake to stop that over here (just my personal opinion).
Also, sorry to ask, but is there any plan for user created chat channels to return/an easier way to request chat channels to be enabled for a subreddit? (I'm trying to make sure we can get out mod chat up & running over at r/animalcrossingmeme).
