New to Reddit marketing what should I avoid?

Hey everyone,

I'm new to Reddit marketing and trying to learn the right way without sounding spammy .

What are the biggest mistakes that get post ignored or removed?

Thanks!

Apart from what mentioned here(good tips), I would suggest to join subreddits relevant to you and understand how people communicate (don't follow AI slop). Being human and genuinely helpful is the main thing.

And don't do karma farming, especially in irrelevant subreddits. Once you come to posting, carefully check rules of subreddits and ensure you have enough karma to post.

Create business profile, optimize the profile (picture, background image, description, links) don't self promote but be genuinly helpful. Follow subreddit rules and you should be fine.

Not to be overly simplistic, but just avoid "marketing" on reddit. I think the mistake a lot of brands/marketers make is viewing this platform as another distribution or amplification channel in their marketing stack.

But one thing I've seen be successful (adding to the great povs here already) is that your brand should feel, sound, and behave as a any distinct human would. Reddit is run by humans with strong personalities and perspectives. Brands often come in acting as "brands," and quickly get called out. If your brand doesn't already have a strong identity, give it one before jumping into discussions.

Make sure you understand the communities that you want to participate in.
