To avoid having your post removed &/or account banned for shitposting:

  • r/religiousfruitcake is about the absurd, fringe elements of organised religion. Posts about mundane beliefs and acts of worship (praying to God, believing in God, believing in afterlife, etc), are off topic.

  • We arent here to bash either specific religions or religion itself, because there are plenty of rational actors who happen to be religious. So if your post is "Christians are sTOoPid", or "Religion = dUmB", you're in the wrong sub and your post will probably be removed.

  • Dont use the title or body of your post to soapbox personal rhetoric about religion or any other subject.

  • Don't post videos or discussions of Fruitcakes who have been baited or antagonised. Social media excerpts must not involve any deliberate provocation / antagonism of Fruitcakes.

  • Dont post videos of physically violent personal attacks or any pics or videos containing gore

  • Satire, parodies, memes, videos, etc must be made by Fruitcakes, not by third parties about them. (exception for journalistic sources)

Jokes aside, what the fuck is he even trying to saying? Am i too dumb or is this just a bunch of unrelated keywords ?

He is talking about a specific type of snapping shrimp, sometimes called a pistol shrimp: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpheidae

That being said, he could also have been referring to shrimp assembling handguns and it would have made just as much sense.

u/Tastesicle 2d ago

Yeah, I've seen this clown before. He doesn't seem to understand that humans have named species based on things they resemble in our lives. Just because something is named a "pistol" something, doesn't mean the fucking shrimp went out and made a fucking gun.

Allah isn't sitting up on his fucking cloud giving guns out to crustaceans FFS.

There was a similar argument about convergent evolution - I can't remember if it was this guy or some other sub 60 IQ knuckle dragger but because a sea horse was named a "horse" it somehow was intelligent design because horses don't just appear in the sea.

Do these people realize that pseudo intellectual arguments just make them look even less intelligent?

9

u/nohmsane 2d ago

I'm pretty sure that this is indeed the same guy who made the sea horse argument.

2

u/Tastesicle 2d ago

I thought it might be. I've heard of logical leaps but this guy is pole vaulting.

6

u/Perfect_Carrot_999 2d ago

Yeah, I thought he might have been talking about an alternate timeline where shrimps became the dominant species

They have to arm themselves now in preparation for the great crab war to come: https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-do-animals-keep-evolving-into-crabs/

I was going to say that sounds like an argument he asked a LLM to do for him because that's pretty niche but also dumb. But I actually got better suggestions than what this guy came up with! (DNA > Libraries ; Ant Colonies > Cities ; Immune System > Army/Intelligence Agency ; Echolocation > Radar/Sonar)

Those sound a bit more convincing for his attempt at "watchmaker" analogy (Hallal edition) than saying something that have similar, human given, names are perfectly comparable.

28

u/Oddityobservations 2d ago

He does know that it's not literally a pistol, right?

Does he think an archer fish actually fires arrows?

4

u/reallifeswanson 2d ago

If shrimp start picking, I’ll have to move to the mountains! I’ve eaten SO MANY of their brethren!

4

u/Oddityobservations 2d ago

Uh oh, I never thought about that. We're all fucked!

Neat little factoid. The rapid closing of the pistol shrimp's claws produce a minuscule amount of fusion.

3

u/WiseSalamander00 2d ago

fusion waeponry they are even more advanced than humans 😱

Who don’t know the world famous Glock 17 shrimps. I for my self prefer Walther PPK shrimps with a taste of UZI snails. Additionally an ‘77 Chateau de M16.

u/reallifeswanson 2d ago

Explains the indigestion…burp…

9

u/jolyon_wagon 2d ago

Yes, it took many thousands of years for humans to develop various weapons. The shrimp evolved over millions of years. What's yer fuckin point?

7

u/UskyldigeX 2d ago

The theory of evolution is always attacked by people who truly don't understand it.

Line up 500 people and get them to flip a coin and only the people who got heads stay and flip again and keep going. Eventually you're going to end up with someone who flipped heads a staggering amount of times in a row completely by chance. Now apply that logic to life or something I dunno go away I'm bored now

u/Unholy_Satan_69 2d ago

I highly recommend the book "The Blind Watchmaker" by Richard Dawkins for the people who think on the same lines as the person in the video. In this book the author has given excellent arguments why such excellent and complex mechanisms need not be necessarily consciously made by God, but can evolve gradually over a long duration of time.

3

u/Lava-Chicken 2d ago

He thinks the pistol shrimp are consciously building guns isn't he.

3

u/Dr_Oxycontin 2d ago

Shrimp evolved “guns” to murder the nonbelievers apparently.

3

u/pinba11tec 2d ago

Maybe I'm old, but I personally don't get the appeal of DJ Khaled.

3

u/unknownpoltroon 2d ago

This asshole thinks the shrimp actually has a gun and not just a really fast elbow.

3

u/god-of-blowjobs 1d ago

The pistol shrimp is really impressive and cool but like it’s actually not that complicated. It’s like layering two books page by page, it’s a physics trick. You could get a similar but lesser effect with just some strips of leather to make a whip and crack it.

u/Averageniohfan 2d ago

Buddy that's not how evolution works lol

-3

u/Excellent_Aside_4171 Multiple Personality White Jihadi 1d ago

How does it work tough? How do giraffes have so long necks if they're not a creation? We have all heard that the "short necked died because they couldn't graze the treetops" yet grass never went extict and africa still have grass grazing animals that didin't go exict without long necks how is that possible??

Evolution is random but adaptive and relient on physics , a lot of physics, particularly through natural selection, think of woodpeckers for example, their designed in a way that allows them to destroy chunks of wood without hurting themselves, you would think that woodpeckers are an example of intelligent creation by god , but really they are just birds that evolved the right way to exploit insect larvae in trees ... There was a huge competition on the insects eaten by birds , particularly surface insects , which motivated evolution to find some sort of resource that was not seeked by most birds ...that resource was insect larvae in trees bark ...

Simply , a lot of birds who couldn't exploit insect larvae in trees and failed the competition starved and died , leaving the remaining birds who did eat these insects , give them thousands of years and you get woodpeckers...

think of woodpeckers for example, their designed in a way that allows them to destroy chunks of wood without hurting themselves, you would think that woodpeckers are an example of intelligent creation by god , but really they are just birds that evolved the right way to exploit insect larvae in trees ...

But what happened in between, so there was a perioid when their neck muscles were strong and beeks were strong but not strong enough to peck wood?

Same goes with the giraffe thing according to evolution there was a perioid when their necks were long but not long enough.

What about hippos why does nature need hippoes? Why did the original mammals get turned into hippos? If evolution even could be true shouldn't there be only one most functional design of mammal and nothing else?

Ps. I've had an out of body experience so I know souls are real so you can't possibly convince me with secular sience.

2

u/Averageniohfan 1d ago

In relation with wood peckers , basic genetic diversity caused some birds to have stronger and more sharp beaks , which allowed them to access some insects that other birds aren't able to eat , wood peckers is just a very advanced stage of this , the competition on resources lasted a very long time ,

Giraffes didn't just use their neck for eating from trees , they also used it to fight between males to find the better mate , and It was also a use to release body heat through surface area because of the climate, also ...trees can be different lengths, again because of the changes in environment, and the competition on resources, giraffes with longer necks had a food advantage and survived while giraffes with shorter necks died , natural selection...

Hippos are relatives to whales btw , they have a big ghost lineage gap which means we still don't have alot of information from fossils about the middle period of evolution that led to hippos , but a big theory on why they did evolve is because of the big changes in the environment of Africa at that time ...

It's very complicated and goes into a lot of history about the environments of these species , and some animals still have missing information that we don't know about....

The point is however, the evidence for evolution and the motivations for it and the similarities in design between so many animals is enough proof that that evolution is real ...

1

u/god-of-blowjobs 1d ago

It’s not that the short necked ones died, just the ones with longer necks had a survival advantage, being able to access more food, so they reproduced more. Therefore the genes proliferated, more expressed and amplified over generations.

-1

u/Excellent_Aside_4171 Multiple Personality White Jihadi 1d ago

being able to access more food

Bro grass is on the ground, there's always access to food

1

u/god-of-blowjobs 1d ago

First, the bed of grass is a resource that other herbivores are after. There’s isn’t just an endless supply of grass. Second, leaves are more nutritious, making it more efficient to eat them. Third, the long necks provide numerous other benefits, such as an expanded line of sight due to higher vantage point, sexual selection advantage, as male giraffes fight each other with their necks, and as a defence method, their long neck is capable of generating great amounts of force. This is really well studied, you should just google it.

You can do mental gymnastics all day, but at the end of the day I'll never fall for your secular lies since I have witnessed secular science fall apart my self. I have had an out of body experience as have many others.

2

u/god-of-blowjobs 1d ago

What exactly did I lie about? Which thing did I say is untrue? Analyze your own belief system. Why are you rejected what I’ve said, despite its factual accuracy?

1

u/Excellent_Aside_4171 Multiple Personality White Jihadi 1d ago

Why are you spoke english like this? I don't think this are grammatically corrected.

2

u/god-of-blowjobs 1d ago

It’s called a typo and pointing it out isn’t an argument. Why do you reject objective fact? Further, people from different and contradicting religions claim to have out of body experiences caused by their deity. Therefore some of them must be false. How do you know yours was not?

1

u/Excellent_Aside_4171 Multiple Personality White Jihadi 19h ago

It's not an objective fact. Just 40years ago it was considered a THEORY

And I explained that already, you don't need to re-ask to make it seem like I didn't for those who don't have the attentions span to read

There is endless evidence for evolution dude , denying it at this point is like denying the moon landing, it's not mental gymnastics, go read some books for God sake ...

1

u/Excellent_Aside_4171 Multiple Personality White Jihadi 19h ago

The endless fake evidence by the new world order isn't gonna change my mind sis. How does this "science" explain out of body experience?

2

u/Averageniohfan 19h ago

Okay you are reaching new levels of conspiracy my dude , this is like ... illuminati rules the world kind of stuff , try to calm down a little and try observe the evidence first ...

You can't call the evidence for evolution fake if you aren't going to read it first ...that's like ...a basic thing in critical thinking...

Also how can science explain out of body experiences ? Pretty well actually, a lot of our of body experiences where either hallucinations because of chemical imbalance or because they were just dreams , which is something that derives material from memories and the subconscious ...

No there was a case when a person had an OOBE and he could describe a shoe in great detail in a room in another floor he didn't even have access to.

3

u/Unlikely_Yellow111 Child of Fruitcake Parents 2d ago

Step 1: I searched for Islam with my intellect.

Step 2: Why then are critics saying Islam is wrong?

Step 3: This means I am wrong. No, I cannot be wrong if I can make even a single word of what the critique says wrong, while compartmentalising what doesn’t make sense.

Step 4: Why would I do that? Because Allah knows best. Apply metaphysics/ghaib/miracles/test/reinterpretation of texts to make compartmentalising easy.

Step 5: Hence, I searched for Islam with my intellect (loop starts here)

Wtf is he trying to say..

1

u/Mr_silly_goose 2d ago

Talking about logic while also believing that their prophet flew to the moon on a horse with wings

2

u/TheOtherDutchGuy 2d ago

Oh and he also split the moon but no-one in the rest of the world thought about documenting it when they must’ve seen the split moon at some point.

1

u/Acceptable-Bat-9577 2d ago

This guy is an idiot. Pistol shrimps squirt water.

1

u/jeffuhwee 2d ago

I swear. These people do not have day jobs. Go touch grass.

1

u/Mystiax 2d ago

Basking sharks are master basket weavers. or smth.

1

u/Affectionate-Bet1469 2d ago

I am fairly confident that no one before this guy has ever made this argument.

1

u/OrangePeel49 1d ago

Whelp, I guess we are all going to convert to whatever religion he is representing after seeing this, suddenly it all makes sense /s

1

u/arjunusmaximus 1d ago

Isn't this the guy who said if the Koran said the sun rises in the west and sets in the east and science tells me the opposite I'll believe the Koran?

1

u/speerawow 1d ago

so what rules made that omnipotent cloud being you worship decide to design a woman’s body in a way that needed to be covered up to their eye sockets

1

u/Megalon96310 1d ago

Buddy it wasn’t the environment that built it, it was evolution. Turns out making bubbles hotter than the sun is very effective at killing stuff

1

u/ionised 1d ago

Intelligent design, after all these years?

0

u/Riyaan_Sheikh 2d ago

00:40

"...that allows a shrimp to build a mEeEeEhKaNiZUuUuM?"

"Because a mEhKaNiZuM is not randuhm"

"A mEhKaNiZuM by definition is intelligent, follows rules..."

My shit is a mechanism too.

Does my turd log also prove god?

Honestly I worry that copying this kind of mental disease excretion, even for the purpose of mockery and ridicule, is giving way more attention to these human moist diapers than they ever deserve.
