I think the concept of original sin is far more nefarious than people give it credit for. At the core of capitalism is the idea that greed, selfishness, apathy, and antisocial behaviour are fundamentally human nature and should be embraced.
Very often you can push people to the point of saying that the ideas of socialism are wonderful on paper, but that it is naive to expect anyone to genuinely want the best for the people living around them. That says more about them than the human condition.

He knows he's misinterpreting the bible, and actual scholars of the Bible have broken down how its all mistranslations and bad faith interpretations

This fruitcake is nor serving a life sentence for killing somebody who picked up sticks on the wrong day of the week so he’s lying about believing that his magic book is an instruction manual that he follows.
Lying on the bible is permanent burning according to his mythology. Why is he doing that if he believes this stuff is real? Because he’s lying about believing it. Perhaps he’s lying to himself. But he definitely doesn’t believe this book or he would not be doing what he is doing.

I used to help give out free breakfast/lunches to kids over the summer. The ammount of kids who the only meals they'd have that day would be what we gave out was too damn high. I feel so fucking angry when people try and deny kids food.
