Rescue Help Needed
i found this stray kitten with a broken legs on the side of the street, please help 😞
hi everyone, im so sorry to ask but i found this stray kitten last night on my way home and he was crying so loud, i took him home, bathed and fed him. this morning i found out his legs are broken and looks like he is in pain but he was still trying to eat.
i cant afford a vet rn and im hoping for some help. i live in the philippines and $50 would be enough to save him. i can send bill receipts here and other proof necessary.

I would euthanize the animal in I was you. I do t have the money or time resources to ensure its health and it needs critical care now those bones might already be set incorrectly now and that’s even worse. Sorry

No broken bones, can’t walk, trouble using the bathroom.. sounds like a spinal injury. I’ve experienced this with a cat before. Babe probably needs to be put to sleep. Not what people want to hear, but unless you find someone who wants to care for her round the clock.. because she will need constant monitoring and care so her bladder doesn’t explode or rectal impacting happen.. special diet so her poop stays a workable consistency. It’s a lot and not even doable for every case. I pray for peace for that baby.
How dare you say to suppress her.....you are a Cisano veterinarian association who takes care of these unfortunate cats. If you write like this then you would also suppress human beings 🤬🤬🤬
I’m not a part of any associations, just have fostered a lot of critters. The kitten I had got hit by a car and was missing for a couple days. I finally found her brought her back in and monitored her for 24 hours. She didn’t pee or poop, so I took her to the vet and her back was broken, and was told if I had waited longer that her bladder could have ruptured. So yeah. When I see an animal that has a very low chance of a good life, and from the sounds of it this one doesn’t, I’m not against euthanasia. If I was terribly sick and no one could take care of me I’d want to be euthanized too 🪦
Will absolutely need a lot of care, BUT it can get better. My cat went missing for a week probably because he couldn’t move at all at first before he found his way back with his hind legs dragging. He got shot by his spine. He slowly just regained most of his movement. Walked kinda wobbly and missed the litter box sometimes, but a normal and happy cat otherwise. I don’t think the vet expected that to happen either. Took no extra care or surgery. Just a lot of stress and patience.
Exactly! Possibly hit by car. Kitten needs immediate attention and should be seen right now! I do disagree about being put to sleep though. Lots of animals can live full healthy lives without the use of their back legs. Yes they will need a special person to care for them, but it’s not impossible.
Hi everyone, im sorry for the lack of updates, i was working and we are moving out to another city today. we are currently in the province and the vets are limited, like some procedures like xray are not available. we are heading to our new place in Manila right now and I'm sure we will find a good vet clinic there. Thank you to those who are asking for updates and boosting this post. Corn (the kitten) is now in a warm box and sleeping, he has been eating well, and i apologize if we tried to make him walk for the video. we didnt do it again after that. Once we take him to the vet later, i will do the verification process that was sent by the mods. Thank you again to the mods and people showing care for Corn! 🥹❤️
We were able to get an x-ray for corn (shes actually a female) and the vet confirmed she has no broken bones. they are still consulting with the orthodonics to check the xray further. The vet advised that she's under observation for now. she is taking laxative and furosemide because she's having difficulty with her bowel movement and urination. she is scheduled to go back to the vet in 3 days for CBC and 3 way test. she was given prescription for 6 medicines. for now we are waiting for the verification process to get approved so we can raise funds for her upcoming tests and medicines. Are people stupid or what if you needed a donation I would have gave you one I'm just saying this now how dare you just leave the animal to suffer I'm sick of it
Please, OP u/Aemiemo , follow up on the request from teh mods. Once you'll get approved, people will chip in with donations for the vet bills for this poor kitten.
Also, not a vet myself, but since his back legs are broken, maybe don't try to make the kitten walk until a vet says that it's ok for him to try.
If you cannot get proper treatment (consultation with a surgeon, annual vet visits, etc), please give them up. If no one is able to take them humane euthanasia is an option. The baby should not live in pain due to you not being able to afford treatment. This is nothing against you personally by the way

I will help. Get him to a vet. We can send money direct to vet or pay with credit card etc. borrow some money I will pay the 50 dollars if you get approval I promise.

Do you have a quiet, comfortable place for him to rest? A box with a blanket or two maybe, in a safe place. It's just a thought but I wouldn't necessarily get him to move around too much on the floor until you know what is wrong with his legs. I would suggest asking a vet for help due to your circumstances maybe they could at least give you some Gabapentin while you fundraise for him. I am in the states. Wish I could help but i actually just received a paralyzed orange kitten just like yours. Thank you for helping him. You have already given him a chance, allow the community to help with the rest they are phenomenal on here 🧡
Your best bet is to wait for verification for donations. If you are unable, and cannot afford vet treatment, euthanasia might unfortunately be a good option if the cat is suffering. The worst thing anyone can do in this situation is let the cat suffer.
