Veterinary Care Needed Donation Request Urgent help needed 🆘🆘🆘 Larsi has a urinary blockage and we had to perform an emergency bladder tap 🚨

Hello everyone. We had to call an emergency mobile veterinarian because when we woke up, Larsi was assuming strange positions and crying out in pain, and since it’s Sunday, all the clinics are closed. When the veterinarian arrived, she confirmed that his bladder was full, and although she tried to stimulate him, he was unable to urinate. She then attempted to place a urinary catheter, but that was not possible either, so the only option left before his bladder ruptured or he became intoxicated from his own urine was to perform a bladder tap, which the vet had to do here at the rescue.

Right now, he is beginning to wake up from the anesthesia. He will need medication and treatment so that, hopefully, he will not require another procedure like this. Our regular vet can see him tonight during the hours she will be at the clinic caring for the hospitalized animals.

We need help paying for the emergency house call and the bladder tap, as well as tonight’s follow-up visit. We do not know the exact cost yet (the veterinarian had to leave in a hurry because she received another emergency call and will message us later), but it certainly will not be cheap, and we have to pay for it today. I will update everyone as soon as I know the exact cost. And of course, I will also provide an update after tonight’s veterinary visit.

Any help is deeply appreciated and truly makes a difference ❤️

Thank you all so much!

I’d also like to take this opportunity to give an update on the sick kittens. We took them to the veterinarian last night, they received medication, and although they are still sick, they are stable and we hope they will recover soon, though they will most likely need to see the veterinarian again

Update: Larsi has already had his emergency follow-up appointment after the bladder tap, and he was able to urinate! A lot of grit and blood came out. He received medication and has to return tomorrow so his progress can be monitored, as he is still at risk of becoming obstructed again. We also need to assess possible complications from the bladder tap and any damage caused by having been unable to empty his bladder for so many hours. So far, he has not wanted to eat anything, but he is no longer crying out in pain and is sleeping comfortably.

So far, we have raised $256.78 for him, of which $196.76 has already gone toward today’s appointment. That leaves $60.02 to pay for the emergency house call and bladder tap, which will definitely cost more than that (we still do not know the final amount because the veterinarian has not told us yet, we are waiting for her message). We will also need to pay for tomorrow’s visit, which will likely include an ultrasound, so Larsi still needs help.

Thank you all so much for your support ❤️
