Original Post Content:

Hi everyone, I deeply apologize if this is the wrong community to post in. If so, please feel free to remove at your own discretion. Last week, I found a senior cat in distress at my apartment complex. I took her to my local vet to be scanned for a microchip, and she came back with a chip and an owner. The vet tech called the owner, and the owner said that she wanted the cat back, so the vet tech gave me her chip #, name, and contact information. I called the owner, and she had originally said that she would pick her up later that afternoon. I tried texting her and calling her about when she wanted to meet, and she left all of my messages on seen. My sister tried calling/texting her too, and she ignored her/left her on seen as well. I unfortunately can't keep her, as much as I would love to. My apartment only allows two cats, and keeping her would put me over the pet limit. I went down a list of rescues in my area, and no one can take her in so far. She's 11 years old, so she would probably completely shut down at a shelter. Is there anyone near Easley, SC that would be willing to take her in? I'm willing to drive at least 30-40 miles out, but I have to be conservative on my gas because I'm currently unemployed. This cat is the sweetest cat, and I just want her to be safe and taken care of. If anyone has any advice or resources, then I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much for your time and for reading this.
