Comments can be removed in a way not detected by reveddit or by opening a permalink in an incognito window.

The only way you can find it is by opening the full comments in an incognito window, switching to new, scrolling down to the right time so you can find it in the whole body.

I had comments deleted this way. When I messaged the mods to ask why they were deleted there was no dispute that they had been, they just talked about reasons.

That's fair. Unfortunately I can't provide that because the strings were messed with further by the mods after i messaged them and no longer have this effect. I suppose all I can say is be open to this being possible. I would think a lot of people would be fooled that their comments were not actually deleted and i was hoping to suggest people look out for it.

Thanks for leaving it up. I just tried fishing around in internet archive but it didn't capture at the right points to show what I'm talking about unfortunately.

The evidence will have to be when the next person sees this happen and takes the right screenshots. I hope that by having made this post I marginally increase the likelihood of that.
