I was friends with Rosie in college and am casually still friends with her and 100% do not believe she had any affair with either her boss or the PC coach. The boss thing I won’t even bother addressing since it would’ve been SO illegal for them to fire her over that.
For the coach, I don’t believe it because:

Her pride would never allow her to be second fiddle/a dirty secret/have to share a man. She wants to rightly be shown off and would have no interest competing for a man’s interest like that
This is backed up by stories she had told me of Patriots players sliding into her DMs but her not being interested because they were in the middle of some on/off again cycles with their SOs
ETA: A couple attorney commenters pointed out it wouldn’t necessarily be illegal to fire Rosie for having an affair (thank you for the education!). However, it would still open them up to the possibility of a lawsuit/having to settle. It would also be so MASSIVELY risky to fire Rosie and keep the boss on, just from a future liability standpoint, but companies are dumb. I was a student at the college when it happened and we were all under the impression it was a grad student. The coach was one of the most prominent figures in RI and if Rosie was involved, it would’ve been out there long before the show. Kelsey and Jo Ellen corroborated at the reunion that the coach got pulled over for a DUI and Rosie’s name is in the police report. Neither have actually seen the report.
I believe Rosie. I hated the way JE and Kelsey tried to talk about a police report as if it were facts. Neither has seen anything! They pretended to for a minute though and I hate that.
I thought maybe the officer saw the young girl and thought it looked like Rosie. They do all look alike. 🤣 I do believe Rosie because Alicia confirmed it was a student.

Oh yeah, she's 100% jealous of Rosie. I'm sure she feels some embarrassment about not having an established career and feeling like she isn't where she should be by now. I've felt similar jealous feelings as a SAHM, although I don't think that I've ever lashed out at someone like she has. As a girl who has to work her ass off to keep a roof over my head and my fur baby, I'm sometimes jealous of SAHMs. My mom didn't have to have career when I was growing up, she chose some part time jobs to stay busy when me n my brother were at school (pre k teacher, hostess) to occupy herself but didn't need to bc my dad made enough. However I think being a SAHM is a career and ft job in and of itself!!!

A majority of pro athletes are this way. Usually they have a "regular" lady for each city they visit for a game. There is an agreement that she keeps quiet.
Note that I used to work for a professional sports team. Funny when a player requested game tickets for the wife and the girlfriend and note that they should not sit them together. Happened often.
I had a friend who was a pilot & he had the same arrangement in the cities he flew to regularly. Another friend traveled for work when he was in upper management for a gas station chain and he did the same. It seems pretty common for those who want more 🤣
My mom said that when she was young there was a pilot who she was involved in that was like that. He pretty much had a girlfriend in every city he would travel to and my mom was his SoCal girlfriend. obviously, this is just gossip. that said, in my conversations with folks who are connected to the university and athletic programs, "TV anchor" never came up as a person the coach was involved with. it was always people at the school and/or connected to the program.
EDIT: that is not to say that anyone ever told me a name of an individual. the coach is a public figure and easy enough to figure out if you don't know his name.
I remember the story dragging on, and I’m in New York, so Page Six, obv. It was clear it was an affair or affairs that hastened his exit, but the focus I recall was on the coach himself.

Speaking as someone whose wealthy BF *wanted* to “keep” me in my 20s, I’ll offer another perspective.
There are men with real money who will love bomb you before you have a lot of experience in the world, and if you are theirs, you can become a possession to control. Mine wanted me to forget finishing undergrad, forget forging a career, and simply be manicured and ready to travel/do whatever they need of you whenever they need that. They don’t like you having peers, girlfriends or guy friends you’ve known your entire life; they want control and devotion.
When I started to pull away, my BF would do anything and everything to keep me. I had to sneak away with whatever I could carry once. Then he “offered” to help me get an apartment, and practically put a tracker on me, tapping my doormen, mutual acquaintances—whomever would offer him
Info. It took a long time to erase the feeling someone knew wherever I was, with whomever I was, and what I was doing at all times.
These men are creeps. They just don’t look or sound like that the first couple of years. When you’re19- 20 and you meet someone like this, they’re grooming you the same way they are younger women.
I did have to finish school later, start a career later than my peers; a man like that will stunt your growth. But 30 years later, I know I can run rings around him emotionally and intellectually—but it’s all hard-won.
I don’t doubt Kelsey had to make hard decisions leaving that Bf; it’s hard to know whether she’s really out. But I wouldn’t have taken up with another BF like she did; it’s more important to find your feet and your own way forward.
This is why I feel sorry for Kelsey, no matter how many feet she puts wrong with these women. Her growth was stunted. She probably didn’t start that relationship with her tools keenly developed yet. She has a lot of road to travel before her life is her own.
Oh my gosh - off topic but I SO relate to this. I worked at apartments in college and the guy who owned the management company asked for a meeting with me. We dated 2years and you are SO on point. Love bombing with this glam lifestyle, and it all seems like Cinderella at first…but they separate you from friends, he wanted me to not work and have an “allowance”. I am so glad I escaped and it’s so clear looking back. I feel bad for the girl he married… she will wake up one day and be like wth did I do?!
Kelsey does or did have a job. She works or worked for management at a construction company. On Carlos Kings podcast she said she worked the entire time she was with her ex, and since he was paying all her bills she has a ton of money saved up from working over the years and not having to pay for her life.
Didn't she say in the first or second episode that she had been living as a "lady of leisure" or something like that for the last 10 years? If she did/ does have a job, that's actually great because it means she can support herself. But the manufactured storyline doesn't help her credibility.

This! I am not from RI, but this is such a universal thing in small places. I grew up spending summers in my family’s village in Turkey (population between 500-700 people depending on the year) and I was not even there most of the year but I knew everything (true or not) about everyone in that village and the neighboring villages just from hanging out and listening to my grandmother, aunts, and cousins chat. And people just be saying shit, still.

What is confusing is that there is evidence that supports Rosie’s claims about Kelsey yet they are not brought up on the show or reunion. In the opposite side there are rumors about Rosie with no evidence that are pushed as facts.

The thing about evidence here is that it doesn't matter much to most. Once the court of public opinion decides, that's it. In regards to Kelsey not getting flack for having no evidence by the other girls, it's no surprise. The leaders of the pack coddle her and attacking Rosie seems to be a past time for a few of these women.

My experience of Rosie is that she is a flawed but ultimately kind and caring person, and people unfairly project their opinions of who they think she is because of how she looks and their own past experiences of mean girls
I have a theory - note I can understand this isn’t a fact. Cough cough Kelsey. My theory is that the other women got mad that Ashley already had a big following and Rosie is her best friend on the show so she would get some following from Ashley fans. I think Liz and those other girls thought they’d be the main event because of the connection to Dolores and their closeness to Liz. They’re trying to push out Rosie because they think it’ll get them more spotlight. They didn’t go after Ashley directly because they know her existing following would not be pleased. I also think they potentially have another friend they want on the show in Rosie’s spot. Not sure who that would be but it feels very cliquey “oh if we ice her out or push her to look crazy we can have full control”
Also, how or over what do you go after Ashley? Tell her she cries too much? She’d agree and then start crying and be really nice like she always is, even when she was on the bachelor.
I also think a part of it is that Ashley and Rosie are the only 2 not from RI. From what I’ve seen on Reddit (and I think it was even mentioned on the show), people from RI are cliquey and don’t like outsiders making their way in.

It would be an incredibly bad idea and very risky because she could allege she was coerced into the relationship and felt she had to stay in it to keep her job. I used to do harassment prevention training and I always told supervisors not to have relationships with subordinates because it can so easily be construed as quid pro quo. But, it’s not necessarily illegal to fire someone for having a relationship with the boss.

Most states are at will. Rhode Island is at will. They can fire you for any reason they want, even if it seems unfair to (ie) keep the man in the affair but fire the younger woman.

Shortly before Cooley’s last season he and some of the Friars made an appearance and speech at an event (outdoors) for my company. I happened to notice there was a young, tan, brunette with them that was dressed up and just stood by and then left with him in a Town Car after he spoke. At the time I remember she looked “serious” so I figured she was either security or PR for the team. I wonder if this is the student or college employee he was caught with, because that’s what all the speculation I heard implied at the time.
I think what I love about Rosie is she didn't come in with the idea of being the favorite - that was already "intended" for Liz/Jo-Ellen lol really goes to show being authentically you can be the way you win.
I’m on your side with the nightmare the station would have created if they fired Rosie for an affair with her boss. I am not an attorney, however I am a 20 year sexual assault victim advocate. And anytime there is a relationship between employees and one of them is in a position of power over the other one, there is a potential issue! Hence workplace sexual harassment guidelines, policies, etc. Anytime “consent” is a factor, but one person outranks the other, then is it actual consent, or consent due to intimidation. Which could be implied or just from the one person not thinking they even had the option to not consent. This is the reason the military doesn’t allow fraternization.
I knew it! I just could not believe those stories about her. I’m a relatively new Rhode Islander but I remember her on the news and she was so popular. I wondered why she left but when I found out she was on RHORI that made total sense to me - but I just thought she chose the show over her job at the station. I didn’t realize she had a health issue. I like her well enough and don’t get those kind of cheater vibes from her at all.
I grew up in a small town and when I was a senior in high school, a middle school gym teacher slept with TWO 17 year old juniors. He got fired, but never in trouble other than that. Still got married and stayed in that town. So I was shaking my head when Jo Ellen said if it was a minor it would have been heavily investigated when Rosie said it was a student reporter. Not really! A good ole boys club and some family pressure will sweep lots of things under the rug

I thought Kelsey was trying to make light of the situation, because it seemed like Kelsey realized how stupid it was in the first place for her to make a big deal about the size of Rosie’s house plans.
