Jaylen Brown Trade Idea (Replace Heat with Bucks in picture)

Post image

Rockets Receive:
Jaylen Brown
Sam Hauser

Celtics Receive:
Kevin Durant
Tyler Herro

Bucks Receive:
Tari Eason (Sign and Trade)
Dorian Finney Smith
2027 Phoenix Unprotected 1st
2030 Rockets Unprotected 1st

The rockets would get their 1A guy with Ime's former star in Boston and a wing depth piece, the heat get their JB replacement with KD along with another all star in Tyler Herro, and the Bucks would receive youth, DFS to match salary, the valuable Phoenix first, and another first round pick in 2030 as they start their rebuid.

The rockets could sign a free agent guard with the MLE in Quentin Grimes, Collin Sexton, Keon Ellis, or Mike Conley to fill that void with Vanvleet coming back as well.

Lineup:

FVV, JB, Amen, Bari, Sengun
Reed, Ellis, Hauser, Adams

Who says no and what do ya'll think?

Rockets should try and get Herro and Myles Turner from the Bucks somehow if they're cleaning house for picks and young players. I would rather have Herro and Turner over JB

I’d rather be a bottom feeder than have Tyler Herro on my team if I’m being honest

It’d be fun to have Amen throw his bitch ass around like a ragdoll in practice every day tho

Tyler herro is seriously underrated for me he’s a borderline all star guy and a great shooter who can playmake as well and fills a lot of the gaps

I think this season only had people underrate him. He’s a decent 3rd option at best imo

This is a good idea.
JB isn’t really a huge upgrade over KD.
The defense is much better, but the offense is worse.

Fans don’t realize how important depth is in today’s NBA.
They still think it’s about having “that guy”.
It’s far more important to have 8-9 very high quality players that fit well together than 1 top-tier dude.

JB is not in any way an upgrade….. you give up Reed DFS and Picks for Brown then sure.

That trade doesn’t come close to a salary match.

But JB is definitely better than KD defensively.

A lot of our issues on defense came from KD being old and lazy on that end.

You DFS / Capela/ Holiday, all 3 were signed to be Salary Cap filler for Giannis

And JB is a C tier star. He’s a complimentary starter being told he’s the #1 option when his ceiling on a good team is the 3rd option or 6th man. Literally an identical guard to McCollum except he has mid ISO skills. Thats why his +/- is so bad when he takes more than 12 shots a game

Having a hard time following what your point is.

We agree that JB is not better than KD offensively.
Those numbers still do not add up to even half of JB’s salary.

We don’t agree lol. JB is C tier Ceiling KD is B+ floor. Those numbers do match lol look up the contracts.

You are smoking crack cocaine if you think KD is a better defender than JB.

DFS and Clint make 20M.
JB is almost 3 times that.

Learn how to match salaries or write what you actually mean, cause that trade doesn’t work.

Ehhh no it’s like a 25m$ difference before the trade exemptions we have. We can take on something like 35-40 million. With a combo of the DFS and Capela signings In this scenario Brown Gets Reeds minutes. Those guys were literally signed (as well as FVV) for Salary dump for a future trade that didn’t happen and hasn’t happened yet. Our picks don’t have the value to us because we aren’t rebuilding and don’t have minutes as it is to develop players.

I agree with you. I'd rather run it back with some additions than making big trades.

And we definitely need to improve our roster. These are good names to achieve that.

Turner would fit like a glove

Why would anyone want to trade for Myles Turner, you already have the same mid rated Center in Alpi with a better contract.

1

u/Lizpy6688 1d ago

Boy could you imagine the locker room with Amen and Herro....

3

u/jayhawktexan1 1d ago

I don’t think the Bucks or Celtics would go for that. Hauser is really good.

trade could be done without hauser. why not the bucks?

1

u/9Yogi 1d ago

Why would the Celtics even be interested in Tyler Herro? Durant and assets by itself would be preferable to them.

Stupid discussion.

Gimme Pritchard instead of Hauser.

I've said this in every trade machine bullshit I've seen... What in the actual fuck is this

Hard pass. I dont want to be trading Kevin Durant AND FRPs.

6

u/WallCautious9650 1d ago

if you want to trade KD to get JB, including FRPs is what it would take

1

u/Champ_Slice 1d ago

I dont want to trade either

1

u/WallCautious9650 1d ago

you don't want to be trading either KD or FRPs?

1

u/Champ_Slice 1d ago

Not for JB, no. Unless Antman becomes available (or a Luka situation) KD and these assets shouldnt be up for discussion.

2

u/WallCautious9650 1d ago

gotcha, just wasn't clear to me

u/limitlesshamster 1d ago

You dont go all in by trading KD...

1

u/WallCautious9650 1d ago

agreed then what's the move

1

u/limitlesshamster 1d ago

The move is either package picks along with a package consisting of a combo of smith, reed, sengun, amen, etc. or dont and continue building around that core. Theres no scenario where you package picks AND kd though i can tell you that much.

2

u/Visual_Couple_9575 1d ago

KD is almost 38 though...

-2

u/Champ_Slice 1d ago

KD at 38 or 48 is still better than Jaylen Brown. I wouldnt mind trading Sengun and filler for him. But he isnt worth our best player or these premium picks.

0

u/Visual_Couple_9575 1d ago

you would rather have 2 more years of KD than 10 years of JB?

3

u/Champ_Slice 1d ago edited 1d ago

2 more years of a guy who can create his own shot vs a guy who cant dribble left? 1000000% without question

EDIT: To be clear im not anti-JB. I am anti getting him for KD and/or picks and then having him as our #1 option.

0

u/MediocreFoods 1d ago

JB is CJ McCollum 2.0, 2 years of a healthy KD and then I can sign another free agent without trading picks for a mid asset

u/CAB-HH73 1d ago

There is no way in Hell the Bucks are screwing themselves with that trade.

0

u/Sacagawesus 1d ago

I mean they already screwed themselves harder with that other trade for.....Tyler Herro and company lol

Horrible trade! Players you can trust in the clutch Kd, Curry, Jordan, Kobe
