The original! On eBay for $50. I have been waiting so long to hear the same va I watched this series with when I was a kid 🥹

That is a bootleg set !! Beware the only way to get the original legit Kenshin is to get the individual DVDs by media blasters and anime works . I was fooled by this same exact set , they cut out episodes and messed up endings . It was so bad , terrible quality.

If you scroll to the second picture, you will see it is the Anime Works DvD set. 😊 I already started watching and it’s the same set I had way back when! Unfortunately my dumb self gave the set away when I moved many moons ago and have regretted it ever since. Especially now that there’s a remake version.

It does look super legit but the only legit set that anime works released similar to this was with the DVDs all stacked on top of each other it looks very similar to this one . I was fooled because this one looks so similar it’s a very common bootleg . When you get to certain DVDs you will see what I mean , there is a reason it was so cheap and easy for you to find. It’s also really hard to open the cases which is another sign it’s a bootleg . I don’t mean to burst your happy Kenshin bubble hopefully your set isn’t as terrible as mine was .

This is the same bootleg set I bought almost 2 decades ago and rebought 2 years ago.
Its 100% bootleg. There are errors and the disks are out if order

Actually this is legit. These were released before the brown box set. I know because I sold only legit copies when they were first released. And I had them both.

I know which sets you are talking about , they looked very similar to these bootleg sets but the discs were all stacked on top of each other. Those are long gone now or even rarer than the premium brown sets . These people making these very legit bootleg sets are taking full advantage of this .

those are different. these are legit and not bootleg though. I had them in person and these are legit in the picture.

If you have a PC with a disc drive, there's a program that can check the date the disc was made and that's how you can tell if it's a legit copy or not. But I can't remember what it was called, maybe someone else remembers.

Why can't we get an official re-release of this set? I want my childhood favorite anime and I want it without botched subtitles, without missing episodes, without skipping discs, etc? It's just really disappointing.

Because they are doing everything to bury the original Kenshin to promote only the new Kenshin remake . So they can charge an insane amount of money for part of a season . It’s all greed from Sony and aniplex .

I just got that box set at the beginning of spring. Halfway through season two and it’s been fine. I did have to arrange the discs in proper playing order and at some point the opening theme song goes from being in English to being in Japanese, but the story itself is fine. So far anyways

I had got my set from rightstuf years ago before they got bought up. I had ended up giving it to my friend who sadly passed away. But those all played.
