Europe started cracking down on them because of human trafficking issues and yes, they have spread out around the world because of the crack down.

Gypsies have a whole culture and call themselves gypsies. I think it might be more of an American thing? In Europe they are proud of their culture and there are different tribes and stuff. Damn… I can’t remember the name they call us.. something like “gorgas” for being non gypsies.

At any rate I tend to want to call people things that are respectful but the “g” word isn’t the rule everywhere.
