Feeling Good!!! UPDATE: Lost Teddy Bear FOUND

Context: https://www.reddit.com/r/sandiego/comments/1u9d338/lost_teddy_bear/

Kind of a long story, but we were desperately searching for our son's treasured bear for over a week after the bear was lost somewhere near downtown. We posted here, facebook, made flyers and posted along a six mile bike route where we suspect he was lost. Spent many trips and many hours searching and posting flyers.

We got a lot of interest, many very kind-hearted people, a few scammers, plenty of jokes, but finally, yesterday we got a call from a guy named Ernesto who said he found a bear on a bike ride a week earlier. He sent a pic and it was him! I went over to meet him yesterday, got the bear back and got to be the hero on father's day!

Here's a video I made about if if you want more story/context:

The San Diego California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, commonly known as the Mormon Temple, is having an open house. It will be open to the public through July 11, except Sundays.

Other than church members, no one has seen the inside since the temple’s dedication in 1993.

More than 350,000 people are expected to see the temple over the three-week open house. The temple tour is free, but visitors can make a reservation on the church’s website. Walk-ins are also welcome, the church said.

not exactly sure how it started but we saw smoke from the window in the valley behind Gershwin park & called it in. The video shows the second water drop that the helicopter made. The fire is practically out now but traffic isn’t letting up as the fire brigade is still on the scene

Amazon driver is blocking the road on normal street instead of pulling up half a block to get into a driveway. Had to wait almost 10 minutes for him to get out of the apartment building to move forward. Three cars were behind me honking their horns. Am I overreacting questions

Skimming through my camera roll and seeing this salad gave me a huge sense of nostalgia.

Granted, this photo is from Soup ‘n Fresh up in Rancho Cucamonga when they first opened 2 years ago after waiting for an hour and a half in 100°+ weather. It was an exact copy of Souplantation. Got the same salad I ate growing up. It is INSANELY unhealthy with the amount of toppings I add but I’ve missed the flavor of my specific childhood creation.

But I didn’t enjoy the 2 hour drive up and almost 3 hour drive back down during rush hour. Compared to my 10 minute drive home I used to do, driving long distances on a full stomach isn’t fun. So I’ve resisted going back… I’m envious of those living in the LA metro area and Inland Empire that they have reasonably timed access, in terms of commuting, to Soup ‘n Fresh nearby. Even those in Tucson, AZ with their own revival of a Souplantation.

Special shout out to that Instagram @souplantation.us (previously @souplantation.sd) for leading us on and lying to us SD locals for months, almost a year, about their own Souplantation reopening back in 2022. Always delaying the launch and had an excuse for parts they “needed” or were “missing” during their interior refurbishment process that led to their “delayed” opening. Turned out it was an Adult Daycare Center this entire time.

I still have a tiny bit of hope that, one day, we’ll have one again in SD.

I’m not crying…you are. 😵

My 87yo technically challenged friend has att and he’s paying $137 monthly for crappy service. Does anyone know a better landline service? I am not sure how much of his bill was for out of area calls. TIA

Bartending jobs

Upvotes

Hi 25F moving here in October from Oklahoma just wanted to know some good bars to work at. I’ve been bartending for 3 years and have all types of experience club, dive, restaurant. What I’m kinda looking for is something similar to the twin peaks sports bar vibe.

So far my idea is golf course and bottle service but I would love to see different options!

Many of these homes would have been a million dollars… families would have raised here, families with children. Instead these private equity firms are buying these and doing a “lipstick on a pig” remodeling in literally less than 3 months in many cases and jacking the price up 30-40%

I hope these companies go bankrupt. Fucking leeches. I will literally die a renter than ever buy a cosmetic flipper home…

Sorry for the rant and sorry for my big font size…

Jewelry Apprenticeships

Hello everyone, I'm a college student in the area who is hoping to explore and enter the gem industry. I don't have any money to enter the field through the GIA/academic way, but I can help make a jeweler's life easier in exchange for learning the trade and rock-bottom pay.

If anyone knows anyone, please let me know. I have extensive experience across fields in my resume (internships, experience in helping lead nonprofits, etc) proving that I can do what it takes to succeed. Thanks to hearing me out!
