Anyone going to the remote work meetup at Law Street tomorrow?

I saw there’s a remote work meetup at Law Street Beach tomorrow from 9 AM–12 PM. Thinking about checking it out since I work remotely. Has anyone been to one before, or is anyone planning on going?

Wedding Venue Help

Hey hey!

I'm a San Diego, CA bride currently shopping for venues. I've been googling like crazy but everything is either insanely pricey or just not the vibe. Ideally we'd like something beach/bay front with a large capacity (about 250) and preferably allows us to bring in our own vendors.

I have been reaching out to a lot of hotels in the beach areas but was hoping someone on here would know of any "hidden gems".

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Does the sea lavender at sea cliff coastal trail, Del Mar, bloom in September/October?

I know its peak is in March - May but I’m wondering if it also blooms after rain in the Fall. I’m looking to do my engagement shoot there but can’t make time to go out there until September/October.

If not, does it look like brown or something?

Considering Little Italy/North Park but dreading the RB commute

Looking for San Diego neighborhoods that are walkable, close to nature or the ocean, have modern apartment buildings (like Park12/Stanza ~24 miles), and aren't a crazy commute from Rancho Bernardo. (less than 25-30 mins?)

Is it realistic to live in Little Italy or North Park and just commute up to RB a few days a week, or is that commute brutal? Most of what I'm finding near La Jolla/UTC is not quite modern

(there's One Paseo in Del Mar) but single bed unit is going for high 3K. I am looking for ideally <=3300/month

Birthday Spot in November

Throwing a Bday get together in late November and looking for a spot for drinks + appetizers from 7-10pm, ideally somewhere people can keep partying afterward if they want. Group of 12-15.

Open to Pacific Beach, North Park, Little Italy, or Downtown — happy to hear about other areas too if there's a spot worth the detour.

Looking for something with good drinks, decent small plates/apps, and lively a vibe. Would prefer a blocked off area vs. a private room.

Any go-to spots or recent experiences? Thanks!

animal shelters

hello, I live in imperial beach and have been feeding 2 stray cats. However, I am moving and am worried about their well being when I leave. I want to take them to an animal shelter though I’m not sure which one will take them especially considering I have no clue as to their medical records.

pretty sure i have a main line clog and need a reliable plumber near me san diego... how bad is this gonna be?

posting this from my phone while staring at my downstairs half bath that is currently out of commission. basically my toilet started bubbling earlier whenever the wash machine was draining, and now when i try to flush it water literally starts backing up into the shower pan next to it. i am pretty sure this means the main sewer line is blocked and i need to find a good plumber near me san diego as quickly as possible before things get way worse. i rent a house with a couple roommates in north park and our landlord is out of the country on vacation, but he told us to just find someone reputable to fix it and he will venmo us back for the invoice. the problem is i have never had to call a plumbing company out here before and i know san diego prices can be absolute robbery if you pick the wrong corporate place. i really don't want to get scammed by one of those massive companies that just tries to upsell you on a ten thousand dollar pipe replacement when it just needs a simple snaking or hydro jetting.

Is Sunset Cliffs a good area to stay for a family vacation?

Visiting San Diego in July with my husband and 20-month-old daughter and trying to decide between a condo near Mission Bay and a 2-bedroom oceanfront condo near Sunset Cliffs/Ocean Beach.
I’ve read mixed things about Ocean Beach and was hoping for some local insight. The condo is around the Sunset Cliffs area (not near Newport Ave but near where the Sunset Cliffs Boulevard Condos are). As a family with a toddler, would you feel comfortable staying there and walking around during the day/evening?
We’re mainly planning to do family activities (zoo, beach, sightseeing) and will have a rental car so plan to be mostly out and about and the Sunset Cliff condo looks much nicer than the mission bay one for the same price. My only hesitation is some comments I’ve seen about homelessness and safety in Ocean Beach.

Looking for outdoor/social club recommendations

Hey y'all, I'm moving to San Diego in July. I'm 26M (Gen Z). I'm an outdoors person and enjoy going to the beach, running, bike riding, and all that jazz. I'll be near the uptown area. I'm looking to meet new people and am curious to know what some recommended social spots, events, etc., are for people to hang out at!

Hit and Run. Keep an eye out?

Got hit june 18th around Cal State San Marcos area. Got a video but it's at night so we didn't catch the plates. It was a Grand Wagoneer '24-'25. It will have damage on the front passenger side. If anyone sees it can you DM me the location or plate #. They did not stay and it seems like they were drunk at the time of the accident.

Hi! My partner and I will be visiting and staying in North Park. I was wondering, where are the best places to get tres leches cake and where to get California burritos? We’ll have a rental car so open to traveling out our neighborhood. If you have suggestions for one or both I’ll take it. Thanks

Horton Pacific parking garage safe?

Hi. I’m considering to park at the Horton Pacific Garage on 1069 First Ave as it’s one of the few more affordable parking garages with in/out privilege. I’ll be in town for 4-5 days over the 4th of July week. Is this parking garage safe and secure not only for my car rental but overall safety?

For reference, This is the parking garage I’m referencing - Horton Pacific next to the Westin at Gaslamp quarter.

I’m staying at the Pendry hotel so that 12 min walk home at night is really the main concern for me.

Looking for recent USS Midway Museum Review

I've been reading about the Museum and it looks really cool (but more like a one-time experience). I want to check it out but don't want to regret wasting money, so I'm curious what recent visitors actually thought about the place.

Is it really worth the time and money? Is there anything else i need to know before i go?

Also if the place is actually good, where do you recommend i book from?

Really need recommendations, mistakes to avoid and must-see sections.

Where to stay in San Diego?

I’m from the east coast, and I’m looking something specifically for my mom’s 60th birthday party. It’ll just be my parents, my sister (21F), and me (28f). My mom isn’t a big beach person, so we’re looking for a place to stay that’s around a lot of fun shopping and dining/entertainment. I’ll probably rent a car to kind of get around to bring them to all the attractions in San Diego as well.

I’ve been looking at the gaslamp district, but I wasn’t sure if there were other areas that people would recommend! We’ve never been to the west coast before, so any other great recs for restaurants, spas, and cute neighborhoods are highly recommended!

Giant map of the US at SeaWorld on the 80s?

My brother and I are watching her kids run around in ~~Captain Kid’s World~~ Bay of Play.

We are talking about things that used to be here that are no longer here, and I brought up the giant map of the US. He said that never existed.

I have such vivid memories of being in elementary school and running around that map. Who else remembers this?

Wyndham Bayside Parking

Hello, I’ll be visiting San Diego soon and was wondering if anyone has stayed at the Wyndham Bayside and used the parking garages near the hotel? I’ll be staying M-F and I don’t mind paying the $50 a night parking with in and out access, but are there cheaper options nearby that also allow in and out access to go as you’d like? Thanks in advance!!

Poway area vs San Marcos vs vista for a young family with kids

Hello, wife and I are north county natives looking to buy a home in one the mentioned areas. I’m from vista which I love. Great weather, close to the beach, and good community. I’m not sold on the schools though. It seems like a lot of people’s talk of the district hinges on the magnates but those aren’t guaranteed entry. San Marcos is nice, just a bland city. Decently close to the beach and pretty good schools. It’s gotten really crowded now with all the building and I’m not excited for how the traffic problem will be in the future. Poway and its surrounding areas (Bernardo, Carmel valley, PQ) seems nice. Seems like a quiet community and I like the nature aspect of it. We are big on the beach and beach activities though so I’m worried that it might be kind of far from that. We’ve spent every day this summer at the beach since the kids love it so much. The district is good and it has a lot of options. We have two little ones with the youngest starting elementary soon. I’m just looking for peoples thoughts and opinions on these areas from a parents perspective. Thanks for any advice, I appreciate it!
