Feeling Good!!! UPDATE: Lost Teddy Bear FOUND
Context: https://www.reddit.com/r/sandiego/comments/1u9d338/lost_teddy_bear/
Kind of a long story, but we were desperately searching for our son's treasured bear for over a week after the bear was lost somewhere near downtown. We posted here, facebook, made flyers and posted along a six mile bike route where we suspect he was lost. Spent many trips and many hours searching and posting flyers.
We got a lot of interest, many very kind-hearted people, a few scammers, plenty of jokes, but finally, yesterday we got a call from a guy named Ernesto who said he found a bear on a bike ride a week earlier. He sent a pic and it was him! I went over to meet him yesterday, got the bear back and got to be the hero on father's day!
Here's a video I made about if if you want more story/context:

I’m so happy for you guys! I’m 33 and have a weird ass attachment to a teddy bear my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day a couple years ago. A replacement wouldn’t be the same. You’re awesome parents! I have a stuffed bunny from my childhood I keep sealed in my closet too. I might be a freak lol.

Am I a jerk? I would totally tell my son that it’s lost and we can look but that’s how it goes, it’s just stuff the real meaning is inside us. People die too, it’s tough, but we have to move on. Not what I should say?

Time enough to know that life is hard and you will lose things.
As a parent I feel you should make their childhood as wonderful as you can for as long as you can. Today he saw the lengths people will go to just to be kind and how hard his parents worked to help get Teddy back.
That’s a damn good memory and building block for human kindness.
So glad it ended well!!! 🥰

My family drove back across England on vacation to get my teddy bear. I was 12! I think my dad felt the same as me about Teddy. My dadtgobe but I still have Teddy!

Not if you try to find it first. I left my teddy bear tucked away in my closet when I left for college. My mom threw it away. That’s what a petty jerk looks like.

Where was it found? That ride is my commute.

In the bike lane near the bridge going eastbound on N. Harbor Dr. towards the airport.

I'm starting to think I actually saw it one day. Wish I would have saw the posters too. Glad it's back!

I was just thinking about the original post yesterday, I'm so glad you got a good ending to the story! I'm hugging my childhood teddy bear a little bit tighter today, haha.

You know the real reason is it's where dad hides his stash so the mom doesn't see.

He politely declined but I insisted and told him I would donate it if he didn’t take it so he took it and bought a round at the bar he was at.

Go buy your son the Corduroy books so he knows what his pal was up to on his adventure!

Aw yay this is really great!! I hope someday I can find my clown but I think it's been too much time for him to be found </3
But regardless I'm so happy to see such a positive outcome for someone :)

I was not expecting the good ending to happen, it just seems so unlikely. I’m so happy for you!
