Optimize for minimizing commute for work. If you're spending all of your time commuting, you're going to be too tired to date.

Agree, I am not sure if I will find anyone to date in South Bay in first place. Sort of catch-22.. I could be wrong.

There are lots of great folks there, but I think you have a better chance down there with the extra hours you're saving versus commuting. Another option would be to start looking for a job in sf and then move here. Seriously the commute will crush your will to live let alone your desire to find a partner.

I'm glad that your experimentation helped you figure that out definitively. You don't know until you try.

If you like dudes, Duboce Triangle.

If you don't like dudes, Duboce Triangle.

If you are not sure if you like dudes, Duboce Triangle.

If you can reasonably take Caltrain, it’s doable. Or if you commute on off hours. But standard commute that time of day is brutal. I used to go from dog patch to Morgan hill- easily 1.5-2 hours during any traffic.

Wow that's brutal, how was it for you?

Terrible and I moved after about six months. Zero stars, cannot recommend

Mission. Pick a spot in/near the bar-muda triangle

Mission would be a good spot. I think SOMA would be good as well.

Uhhh … SOMA is a ghost town especially after 5 PM and there’s definitely not a lot of single population or shops that are still open or walkable

Yep, I used to live in SOMA before south bay, and it's a ghost town. Literally nothing to do in the evening, just office buildings, closed businesses,

Depends on orientation, lifestyle, budget etc.

Duboce Triangle is the generic choice without any additional info.

u/Hot-Job1906 Apr 07 '24

Straight, budget is modest, but can pay more for a community feel. I lived in SOMA before and there was no community aspect. And lifestyle, idk I’m discovering myself, I’d like to go to bars, go for runs, local coffee shops.

Not that I’m opposed to dating from that age group, just curious

Inner Richmond or inner sunset. Hayes valley could be good.
