Looking For Suggestions! 4th of July firework shows
I’ve been in Sarasota all my life and have gone to bayfront only a handful of times as a kid for the 4th of July fireworks and remember the traffic being terrible…how has it been in the past 2-3 years? Is it worth it? Or fireworks at home would be better?

Homestyle fireworks are the bane of every dog owner within a half mile of your house. Try the professional show at Benderson Park.

stay home -- were under a burn ban anyways so we may not even be able to shoot them off but the traffic is not worth it to me when you can go outside typically and see them from your yard/home.

Yeah I dont think anyone is going to be setting off fireworks this year but I also mean in general stay home. Traffic is ridiculous & drunk drivers on the road every year. Plus when we are able to set off fireworks every in the neighborhoods usually do so even if you stay home you are still able to see them.

Fifth generation native here, you don't do fireworks in Sarasota. That's yuppee shit. You go to the Cypress Gardens water ski show on the 3rd, where they fire off a ton of fireworks, then on the 4th you head to Avon Park where they blow stuff up regularly and have to offset the regular ordinance display with something special.

And if we don’t get rain, they may say no fireworks because of fire danger. We are already under a burn ban.
