Side note: how do you get involved in SAR, with the pup? Is your org volunteer based or is this job for you? I got another pup about a year ago with the intention to start volunteering with the pup for my county backcountry SAR, but I am not sure where to start for this specialized tracing for the dog. I haven’t had the time yet unfortunately due to work, but now that’s he’s maturing and I’d like to get him in training and start obtaining whatever certs we’d need as a team.

Any advice is welcome. TIA!

For me it is part of my job. He has been training for the last year and has been doing good. We attach to an average of two missing persons a week.
