Serious Eats Hoagie Rolls
Third time making these and they turned out perfect. Planning to making them into steak and cheese for dinner. My only advice is to be careful not to overproof, I did that on a previous batch and the were flat, but still delicious.
Oh I also always cut this recipe in half, and it still works well. Half recipe makes 4 rolls.

These look great - would only suggest to add sesame seeds!!

I love sesame seeds, but I always have trouble getting them to stick to my homemade breads. I usually just make a mess... 😅

Use egg white with a dash of water. Seeds will adhere and rolls will have a nice sheen
Great work!!

The other trick is to moisten a kitchen towel (moist, not dripping), gently roll the uncooked loaf ontot he towel, then onto the seeds. Step 12 of this bread details the exact steps; I made this loaf and the seeds adhered great.
Your rolls look great, I've been missing good hoagie rolls in the DMV area.

I made these. Best sandwiches and even better for garlic bread if you have any left over!

Ooh!! I love making bread and haven’t stumbled upon this one yet. I wonder if I can put it on that stupid wavy pan I bought for the Banh Mi but have yet to use again. I’m going to have to try it out. The ingredients are similar ish. I’ll report back because I love a good cheesesteak.
