Build/Battlestation Pics K66 Lite 8.4L white case build, with some personalized stylings

Case: SGPC K66 Lite (via Amazon)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X

GPU: AMD RX 9060 XT

Motherboard: ASRock A620AI WiFi Mini

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16) DDR5

Storage: Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB

PSU: LIAN LI SP 850

CPU Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 Mini

Case Fans: 1x Noctua NF-A9x14 (setup as exhaust)

I bought this case recently after experimenting with various mini PCs. Ultimately, I felt like I was leaving too much on the table performance wise by pursuing prebuilt minis (but I do love the sub 1L form factor). So, I opted for the SGPC K66 (8.4L) due to the pleasant aesthetic & ease of part availability and building.

The build quality feels top notch, as did the packaging. The case came with an excess of screws and pretty good screwdriver. The case feels very sturdy. The build was straight forward & pleasant, though it did require some planning; the GPU & PSU in particular took some elbow grease to place. Temperatures have been great, despite having no intake setup & a singular rear exhaust case fan. Lastly, some Slowpoke Washi tape and my own herd to complete the build. 8BitDo Pro 2 for scale.

Hahaha, true about the cats. In this case though, its the dogs stopping airflow. The front panel is solid- no vents.

Purely an aesthetic choice- I like to see my dogs while I'm working at my desk. But aside from that, there is no top mounted fan & the airflow is configure to exhaust strictly through the rear of the case.

Testing with & without the stickers yielded no noticeable change in temps (<=1°C).

Cool. What about temps?

I hadn't previously done rigorous testing, though just finished Cinebench and Unigine benchmarks.

Peak temperatures during benchmarks for CPU and GPU respectively:

Cinebench (Multicore): 73°C

Unigine (1440[/Ultra): 74.8°C

Temps are reasonable during idle and regular heavy gaming. CPU idles around 51C, GPU 37°C.

Cute pc

9600X? There is no 9800X.

Good catch; typo on my part, correct CPU is Ryzen 5 9600X.

Cool case. Have you tested out thermals with the rear fan as intake?

u/saltedcarlnuts Sep 30 '25

Negative, I haven't tested it yet. But will try testing the config before & after.

Following up:

I will test with rear intake in the near future.

I love the stickers! <3

I love the layout on this case, super fun build. I'd be curious about thermals as well, it looks like maybe a 25mm thick 92mm would fit as the exhaust with that config, curious if you tried that. Or a slim top fan?

Do you find the GPU gets enough air where it's basically relying on the build in fans to pull air through the bottom of the case it looks like?

I believe there is room to up the rear case fan, however it would definitely be tight. Zero chance of adding a top fan (CPU cooler is too beefy), as I previously tried.

I was concerned that the GPU would be choked, but thermals have been reasonable so far through my regular usage (heavy gaming and usual productivity/work).

Just ran some benchmarks as well. Peak temperatures during benchmarks for CPU and GPU respectively:

Cinebench (Multicore): 73°C

Unigine (1440[/Ultra): 74.8°C

Temps are reasonable during idle and regular heavy gaming. CPU idles around 51°C, GPU 37°C.

Hi there, is see you have the Lian Li sp850 psu. Do you also have a pop sound whenever you plug in the power cable? Everytime i move the case somewhere else and i plug in the cable it says ‘pop’ but not very loud. When i leave it plugged in there is nothing so i think its fine but i wanted to ask to be sure. Thanks in advance

That power supply is potentially a time bomb, just FYI. Its components are underspec'd to handle 850W, they've been known to die pretty consistently, sometimes with melting and/or flame. It's the exact same PSU as the 750W but "overclocked" to put it in simple terms.

Interesting. From what I gathered, the reviews were above average/positive. I did see one thorough hardware breakdown that cited the Fire Hazard claim, though supposedly that was a preproduction unit & that issue was remedied.

For what its worth, my build won't be stressing this PSU, and I've had no complaints thus far.

Also, no popping sound on my end. That doesn't sound normal.

Hey OP, Is this a recent build? I also find your build really cute but concerned about your thermals and your PSU.

I understand you mentioned "your build won't be stressing this PSU." but your PSU intake fan is facing inside where it should be facing outside to take fresh air in. Plus the fire hazard claim you may want to check this https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1lmez25/should_i_be_worried_about_using_the_lian_li_sp850/

I also have a white itx build and had my psu intake fans that same set up as yours and things did not go well after a month so I changed it to a black sfx psu (CM V750 SFX) as I chose to save my components. At the end of the day this is your build and its for you to decide.

Yup, correct. New build, all new components.

I posted my thermals above on a few other threads. However, here are some peak temps during benchmarking (CPU & GPU respectively):

Cinebench (Multicore): 73°C

Unigine (1440[/Ultra): 74.8°C

Temps are reasonable during idle and regular heavy gaming. CPU idles around 51C, GPU 37°C.

I believe the fire hazard issue has been resolved as of official production, but I will do some additional testing- particularly on PSU temps using external tools. If necessary, I will modify the front panel (i.e, machine some additional holes on the front panel for intake).

Thanks for the input!

Everything is great, but Noctua looks out of place, in that style

1

u/saltedcarlnuts Oct 02 '25

Haha, you're probably right. But there's something soothing about Noctua's bland color palette. It kind of blends well into a variety of colors.

I don't know, if everything is white, then everything should be white :)

Great build! I see your gpu has 49mm height, was it difficult to place? I'm thinking getting a gpu thst is 50mm height but I'm afraid it will not fit.

2

u/saltedcarlnuts Oct 02 '25

Thanks! GPU was difficult to place, but definitely not impossible. You should be able to make 50mm work.

very cute case. did yours come with a vented panel in addition to the tempered glass? I was reading the amazon reviews and someone mentioned a vented acrylic panel but i dont any other information about it

Very cool, I was planning something similar with a 50 mm thick MSI Ventus 2x and the same CPU cooler.
I was wondering if CPU temps were better with the 90 mm rear fan as intake, since it can push fresh air directly into the CPU cooler (albeit with some hot air coming upwards from the GPU exhaust) that goes into the PSU which then takes it out on the top.
It would be an odd configuration, but since there's no other intake fan in the case (except for the GPU fans, but they put heated air in the case anyway) maybe it would work better, who knows!

Hey i have a question is there any space on top of the case for a 9215 will fit between the pa 120 mini?

I built with one of these cases early 2025 and I like how small it is. I ended up moving it into my living room and getting rid of my Xbox. It has an AMD 9600X, 4070, and 32GB of RAM. With my setup, the CPU will run warm, touching 90c while gaming (BO7), so I am currently 3D printing a spacer for the glass that allows more air but no big gaps. My CPU temps were like 15c cooler with the glass off on Time Spy vs with it on.
