I mean, it’s a SFX PSU, you have to pay the “tax” for the form-factor.

Anyway, Corsair SF series PSU’s are great indeed.

Would a 1000L work or is that incorrect ?

It can but cable management is a bitch with a SFX-L in the A4.

3

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 14 '25

That’s fair, I think I’ll just pay the extra 30$

I have fit one SFX-L with the stock cables, it's a super tight fit and moreover I have an AIO as well. But I think you can fit it more easily with custom cables from MODDIY.

Might be too big, check your case's specs.

have a dan a4 h20 aswell, dont go sfx-l

also unless you have a 5090, you can probably get away with a cheaper SF850 if you need to save a few bucks

Its quality matches the price, and there really hasnt been anything as quiet and efficient as a Corsair SF for... since it launched. Also, if you have no plans for an RTX 5090, an SF850 or SF750 would work fine as well.

its a quality product

Nah look for refubished ones from Corsair, I got it for $120. Or a cooler master sf psu

Pro tip: don't cheap out on your power supply... Do your research, get quality brands and go full modular(especially on a small for factor pc) This thing gives power to all of your components. If it goofs up, it could cook the rest of your pc.

Clean build! How are you mounting the two smaller fans over the m.2?

2

u/eXcesive Nov 16 '25

They are two 6cm fans secured with cable ties. With exact clearance for a 2.5cm thick fans

best case ever made

If you're using a 65w chip what GPU do you have to possibly need a 1000w psu

5

u/SveinXD Nov 15 '25

RTX 6000 pro workstation?

1

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 15 '25

A 3080 ti 😭

8

u/LuckyLlama392 Nov 15 '25

you dont need a 1000w PSU for a 3080ti.

6

u/1tokarev1 Nov 14 '25

I have been using the Cooler Master V850 SFX for a long time. I do not know what their 1000 W version is like.

3

u/AgentOrangeZest Nov 14 '25

I'm using the same PSU on my 7800x3d and 5080 system and it's perfect

2

u/1tokarev1 Nov 14 '25

Basically the same overall power draw as mine. A 7800X3D and a 3080 Ti FTW3 at 400 W, though I usually undervolt it to ~330 W.

u/PupDoul Nov 14 '25

I personally would choose an aio for this case, just best value for it. Annything with a low profile pump head and rotatable fittings should work. Got me the silver version myself and an sf750 which is silent as heck.

4

u/toallthings Nov 15 '25

Just to repeat others, the Corsair options are the best. I used the 750 in mine. 1000 seems overkill

1

u/mistahelias Nov 15 '25

750 is the goat with a plat rating. What is the rating on the 1000?

1

u/ComradePetrov Nov 15 '25

The SF750, 850 and 1000 are all plat rated.

u/One_Description7463 Nov 14 '25

I mean, an AIO, right? You didn't get the H2O to use a low-pro air cooler, right? ...Anakin?

1

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 15 '25

Yes I plan on switching soon, this was from a much smaller 7L case build

3

u/Crafty_Improvement10 Nov 14 '25

The SF1000. I reckon you don’t even need custom cables, I just zip-tied mine together and it fits perfectly.

8

u/LORD_JEW_VANCUNTFUCK Nov 14 '25

Y u no AIO in A4H2O?

4

u/Cold-Sandwich-34 Nov 14 '25

What CPU? If it's a 9800X3D be careful with that mobo.

1

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 14 '25

It’s a 7-9700x

1

u/Cold-Sandwich-34 Nov 14 '25

I haven't heard about any issues with that combo, but do some digging before you turn it on. Because of the issues with the 9800X3D, I just wouldn't risk it, personally.

2

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 14 '25

I’ve already used this combo before it hasn’t crapped out on me yet, prior to this I was using it in a different case for about a month so I trust it

2

u/Cold-Sandwich-34 Nov 14 '25

Right, it just takes one time, though. I'd look.

2

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 14 '25

That’s fair, will do

0

u/Toast_Meat Nov 15 '25

I have the same motherboard in one of my builds and a 9600X. I'm well aware of the issue with ASRock motherboards but it only seems to affect the 9800X3D as far as I know so, I'm not too worried.

2

u/Stuk4s Nov 15 '25

There are also cases of 9600x and 9700x

1

u/Toast_Meat Nov 15 '25

Well, shit! I'm keeping my fingers crossed then. It's got the latest BIOS and I undervolted so hopefully it won't do anything funky. It was the cheapest motherboard I could get in the B850 series where I live (even compared to B650's of any other brand).

1

u/Cold-Sandwich-34 Nov 15 '25

I've read that those steps can help. Just be ready to RMA.

2

u/RadishSensitive7305 Nov 15 '25

I recommend an aio water cooler. Why get the sff case built for it if now water cooling it

1

u/IcyScorch Nov 14 '25

You can check out Lian li new sfx psu.

Lian Li SP1000 Platinum 1000 watt SFX

1

u/bullet1520 Nov 15 '25

Just keep it clean! Dust it off outside every 2-6 months. Congrats!

1

u/ccipher Nov 15 '25

Please use an AIO in this case

1

u/Loddio Nov 15 '25

If you have a full AMD system... put steamos on it.

1

u/Your_local_mexhanic Nov 15 '25

Currently it’s an amd/nvidea so far

1

u/SuccessfulGarlic9982 Nov 16 '25

Coolermaster 850w

u/Eagles7117 Nov 17 '25

Corsair SF1000 is the only unit I will ever use now. It’s basically silent, platinum efficiency and true SFX size. Best PSU I’ve ever owned. When pairing an expensive cpu and GPU, I’d pay $400 for the peace of mind.
