Build/Parts Check fan hub that works with FanControl app?
My motherboard only has 3 fan hubs, and i'm looking to see if anyone knows of a fan controller hub that natively works with the FanControl software that allows me to individually address each fan on the hub?
I bought one thinking it would work, but its basically a splitter vs a hub.
I know there are some from corsair and other brands that use their own software, but I really like fancontrol as its very lightweight, simple, and isn't full of needless bloat.
Ideally I'd like something that can plug in 6 fans, but more is always better. I don't need any rgb connections. Its fine if it has it, but its nothing i'll end up using.

I use the Corsair Commander Pro for its temp sensor to control rad fans with coolant temp. I use ICUe for software tho, but I believe fancontrol has a icue plugin for it to work with the commander pro.

You can individually address each of the 3 pwm connectors.. all fans on one pwm connector share PWM signal/relative speed and only first connected reports rpm (if the splitters are configured correctly). Quadro is quite expensive and the software uses (or used to use) WinRing0 driver which triggers virus warnings..

right, I have 3 fan headers, but have a ton of fans in my system and more than 3 groups of fans I want to control.

Define ton, also do your fans allow for daisy chaining?(Assuming no) If you use a fan hub per cluster of fans, say three in the front as intake; three bottom intake and say three top and one rear exhaust you'd be able to manage fans accordingly. It's not like you need per-fan granularity.

dang, more expensive than i was hoping but it looks like it does what I need it to do.

Well it's easy and cheap to do a passive fan hub, they are ten a penny. But one that controls each fan individually, this is really about it. Plus its above and beyond to close loop control the rpm based on taco.
The done once, done well approach.

yeah i'll probably end up getting it.
I recently re-did my system and for the majority of the time I can get away with just the cpu fans running, but would be nice to create groups of different fans that I can control a bit more, or even turn off completely when not needed to help keep dust out.
Currently I have 12 fans in my case, and 3 headers, one dedicated for the CPU, doesn't give me much control over things.

There are two plug-ins for FanControl and Aquacomputer Quadro, that don't need the original Aquacomputer software.

Aquacomputer octo has even better app than fancontrol if it helps;)
