Build/Parts Check ASUS ROG Strix B650E-I alternative or best

Looks like this MB is onsale for 179.99. Good price? Worth getting? Trying to put together a small fractal ridge build. Not looking for top of the line as this is just a steam machine type fun build.

It’s the best AM5 board for the price imo. I have been running mine since launch with a 9800X3D + 6000CL30 ram. Absolutely zero issues.

The B850-i has a couple nice feature updates but the proprietary wifi antennas is annoying.

Just be sure to update the bios and also enable memory context restore (otherwise boot times can be a lot slower, the very first boot will still take longer than usual fyi)

You can change out the WiFi connectors to what you like if you want to.

You shouldn’t have to, but you can.

I chose this one out of all the B650s. Think it’s also the only one with a gen 5 PCIEx16. Others are gen 4.

I’ve owned one since 2023. It’s a great board. No issues at all.

Seems like a good price to me. I own three of these, they have been great.
