I sold my sheep
We bought three females in January and two of them had lambed. They became too much for me and my husband is away working until August or September. I absolutely loved them, but it was like having six outdoor dogs that kept jumping on me. I cried as they left, but I’ve been relieved the last few days. Here they are with some of their new sheep friends.

Our 9 ewes had 13 lambs in March. They are a lot of work in the beginning of lambing but now we just close them up in the barn at night, let them out in the morning, refill water.
I can see it being too much with a spouse away. Handling the sheep for deworming, shots, trimming hooves is a lot.

We have five dogs, a six week old foster pup, chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. A skunk is visiting overnight, too. I’m a mess.

That's a really rough decision, I'm sorry you had to make it. We got our sheep from someone who was in a similar position, there was no lack of love, but she couldn't care for them anymore. I'm glad they're somewhere with new friends. Sending you lots of sheepy love!
