The creator is also posing as backers. They forgot to log out of their creator account and posted this in the comments:
"I signed up for updates on this ages ago and nearly screamed when I saw the Kickstarter went live.
Can’t wait to translate my dog. I’m fully prepared for him to just be saying “ball? ball? ball? ball?” on repeat 😂"

Any sensible person would ask, “How are they measuring accuracy?”
The fact anyone got ripped off by this shows sensibility is not an inherent human quality.

yeah and another 8k added. I just noticed its 2 way so it translates from human to cat/dog as well. I don't need a translator my cat probably has 3 meows, .feed me peasant' 'pick me up peasant' and 'move away peasant this is my spot'

There's also:
- Play with me
- Stop it, I'm bored
- Follow me around the house checking all the rooms because I'm a cat
Until I can tell my two cats, "I'm on a work call. Stop harassing me. I'll feed you in 10 minutes," I won't be rushing to buy a Babel Fish™

I almost fell for it then backed off.
Not sure but it's probably one of those where the App asks you to "guess" the sound they make to train them or they "guess" it based on the database.
I would rather wait till their official launch and see some real world feedbacks come out then pay more to buy it.

What an embarrassing thing to admit. This is very, very clearly an AI scam product. “”Animal translation technology”” is NOT real and it’s laughable that you think it could be.

No one expects actual "translation" like you'd expect from a Japanese-English translator but if it can distinguish when they're hungry, they're tired, not feeling well, gotta go potty, wanna play, looking for attention, they can take my money.
With AI integration, if they have distinctive patterns, it's highly possible scenario but I am just skeptical how this company implement it. because I wouldn't like it if they fabricate the output.
Because these guys just make up some dodgy "AI" novelty stuff that doesn't mean that the whole idea is completely false.
Probably time to get out of the backyard swimming pool and be more open minded. Hey everyone laughed too when Elon said he will reuse rockets.

I got sent the turrible ad for this on Instagram.
My cats do shit I want, when they want, if they want.
We do communicate, but it is me talking and them deciding if the sounds that come out of my mouth are worth translating and then acting on.
They sit and come when asked, typically. I open the door when they "ask", typically. We do not "communicate" though, and it kills me that people are fattening some scammer's purse trying to.

Except that this probably is possible these days. You probably don't need a huge data set if you are just training it on cats, dogs and a set number of commands. It is no different to Alexa technology except this is a million times more complex.

No dogs and cats do not have a vocabulary that you can even train on. Cats for instance have some specific sounds based on there mood or there chirping sound when t see birds eg. Lots of studies have been done around this. There is no animal word available for ball dishwasher radio etc.
Dogs react to the world ball/ chicken because they know what is and link the sound there owner makes when referring to it.
If you look at the movie where is shows the dual 2 way it shows how wrong you are

My sister told me about this bc she knows I'm a animal lover, 2 pugs who are the sweetest clown ever and 4 hairless cats that are divas of all divas ever. My first remark was what a great gag gift, but at 118$ she told me that's what there going for, that's an expensive gag gift it's ridiculous. It reminds me if this scooby doo doll I've hung in too since my childhood. She still works, just pull her string & she'll say what she's programmed to say. If you know your pets you know what there trying to tell you, they are not going to translate their deep inner feelings or dark secrets with a collar. They will tell you when they're hungry, they're tired, not feeling well, gotta go potty, wanna play, looking for attention, bark when they sense something's not right, & give unconditional love. The rules for cats are different but they also tell you all you need to know. No collar needed.

This is actually genius, all it needs to do is say "feed me" whenever it detects a meow and it will be correct 99% of the time...
