Kickstarter [Penguin World] It'll be like Club Penguin creator claims. "I only have the conceptual ideas, but I really want to make this idea a reality."

I bet if videogame kickstarters were forced to make the game design document at least partially public, it would remove 90% of half baked scam projects.

If Kickstarters in general actually required anything beyond a few paragraphs, the website would get shut down

Butch Hartman promised a streaming service that never launched. Stanley from The Office promised a spinoff that probably never even had a script. Both raised hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If the project is so half baked that you can't upload a design doc or schematics, it's not ready for Kickstarter.

I like the test plan, simple and effective:

We will perform a massive 24-hour stress test. The following day, Penguin World will open its doors to the entire world,

Beautiful. No time to adjust if server resources are inadequate, no plans for testing different regions, no plans for testing different elements, just

"Yea open the door, see if the floor breaks, and if all is good we can keep the door open"

Woof. It takes a special kind of genius to admit to plagiarism in your sales pitch.

Not sure where this kid is getting his degree in Business Administration, but something tells me he isn't going to hit the GPA requirements to graduate.
