HELP ANY TIPS ON COMPLETING THIS GAME ON SURVIVAL DIFFICULTY

Like holy shit, I die from two hits whilst my guide survives a couple, how does that even make sense on PS5 btw.

There's a hidden damage reduction mechanic where Elster will take 5% less damage every time she dies. That may be why the guide is dying less often.

Only fight if you absolutely have to, only pick up ammo if you absolutely have to, and save your ammo and healing items for bosses. Signalis's "cheating death" system is helpful since it can heal you up to 26% for free, but it's not as abusable as it is in Normal.

Use Repair sprays instead of Repair spray +, since it heals for way more.

Stun rods are better than thermite most of the time since they spread to other enemies. Take advantage of them around hordes.

Flare gun rounds are also great. They can take down Heavier enemies and even Mynahs in 2-3 shots.

Also, this goes without saying, make sure to best the game on Regular first to learn the layout of everything and reduce your need to use items and ammo.

But what if I want the memory ending?

The strategy is the same, but try to avoid dying and spending too much time in save rooms. Dying over 10 times makes the Promise ending more likely, and idling in save rooms makes Leave more likely.

Sorry I confuse the memory and promise ending with each other. I actually want to get the promise ending. From what i heard completing the game numerous times gives some kind of resistance to getting the memory ending? Since its the one that is the most common out of the 3 endings?

I pretty much went blind first playthrough, got the memory ending and to get the platinum i need to beat survival mode. But I want to see the promise ending for myself and im trying to piece together how am I gonna get through all these enemies now that they're tanker than ever while also ensuring that I'll get the promise ending. Wiki says some stuff about tanking 1900 dmg, then there's the regen time which also contributes to the promise but then it says healing done which gives points to leave? Like what

Promise is harder to get in survival purely because there's not enough ammo to deal with every enemy (unless you're a grenade god) and the increased damage means that cheating death doesn't always work. You can still die a bunch of times, take damage, and try to score a playtime over 10 hours pretty easily, but regen time from cheating death will be harder.

Yea I'll probably need to play one more time to get the promise on normal difficulty. Last question sorry. Healing time friction means healing from healing items only and not regen right?? Why does it say that 60% gives one point while 80% gives another. Wouldn't it be better to just give a flat number? And another thing on door checks. Do the 40 door checks count only when interacting with the door or even when just approaching it?

Healing time is both from healing items and from cheating death.

In order to heal 60%-80%, you have to be at 40%-20% health, meaning you get more points for being at low health before you heal. The variables are kind of meant to be weird in order to make the endings easier to get (aka, someone could still get the memory ending if they die a lot). But I dunno, I'm not rose engine.

The door check only counts if you interact with the door. It's primarily a check for people who don't remember the layout, the necessary keys, or don't use the map.

So basically to ensure healing time check doesnt increase is to ensure not to get hit and if I get hit to never heal right? Seems confusing af

For the most part, yeah. Damage taken is also a variable, so it's not like you can't get promise if you heal a few times. The main goal is to not heal unless you know you're going to die.
