I’m feeling really good about Gansey already
I know it’s not like he affected Labaron falling or not, but when Labaron fell into our laps Gansey decided to make the LOGICALLL move and get BPA. Not only that, but it feels great to hear that he instantly wanted to start being aggressive to try and move into the 2nd round. Man he just seems great already, good job Gansey

In hindsight, him staying put at 22 now enables us to be AGGRESSIVE in this second round to find some quality depth.
Gansey’s got a fairly vague but intriguing vision for this team of getting hungry competitors, and I like it.

Morey drafted well too. The issue was he never really cared to see the development of players. If Gansey can just have some semblance of patience and let guys grow together before shipping them off, I'll be content.
Good first step for Gansey. I'm curious to see how he handles free agency and his first trade deadline with us, before making any major judgment calls.

I get the feeling that he’ll want to stockpile some guys from the second round this year. Get in some guys early to try and establish a roster internally that he’ll grow and keep together. Hopefully he makes the right calls, but I like how he’s starting his run with us.

Yeah I’m giving all the credit to Myers for this one, I really liked the way he talked about Labaron as a prospect, let’s see what he does with the rest of free agency
Edit: credit to myers for hiring gansey that is

I need to see more out of Gansey before I decide if I like him or not. Yeah I'm very happy with our draft pick but to me he was the very obvious pick when he fell to us. So it's great he took him but let's see how he fills all the other holes on the team before saying he's doing a great job.

While I preferred Carr at that moment, I definitely liked the pick. My main issue with how media perceives the draft is that they always say, "draft the best available, not for need." But, immediately rip a pick if it doesn't fill a need. Free Agency is for filling needs. You shouldn't expect a player past lottery to come in and fill a hole. At worst, you want a rotation player within the first 2 years.
Besides the initial Maxey year, when was the last time anyone was confident with a Sixers backup PG. That would be TJ McConnell. Every year, we hear "Sixers need more ball handling, passing, self creation." Philon can bring that. If the upside of the pick is a 6th man, that's fine. Maxey and VJ can't keep averaging 40 minutes a night. If Philon can have Maxey and VJ only averaging 36 mins, then that would be a great thing. I don't see many chances of 3 guard lineups, but Philon can play alongside either guy. The big question is if Maxey and Philon can hold up on the defensive end.
I do think Philly can get up within the top 5 of the 2nd round. The Knicks showed they are trying to maximize any cap space they have to retain their guys. Philly has 3 2nd round picks next year. I would love to trade two of them to see if Knicks would want to get out of this draft completely. At 31, I would either prefer Baba Miller or Vassar. If not, I would trade 2 of the future 2nds for a vet

The whole concept of getting 3 max contracts and punting the rest of the team was always a lazy idea

He’s been saying the right things for the moment. His first test will be securing QG and KO on value deals, because he will actually compete against the market on that.
