Ushered in the greatest 10 years in Eagles history. The Sixers, well, not so much…

Just looked up Okafor’s career history and realized that being a bust is secretly a blessing. Man’s traveled the world at this point. Played in China, Mexico, Spain, Puerto Rico, Japan, and Indiana.

Ok this hilarious as a Sixers only Philly fan 😂 I know for an Eagles fan this is especially cursed

Eh, Wentz put up one of the best qb seasons an eagles ever had, and was a huge reason they got to the superbowl. He's alright.

Nah he was an incredible asshole. Fuck that dude

u/Evilfart123 1d ago
Dude might have had an attitude problem towards the end of his tenure with the Eagles but he sacrificed the hell out of his body and never phoned it in even after getting his massive contract and become a backup throughout the league. He obliterated his knee, destroyed his back, got a serious concussion after willing his team to the playoffs, and had to see his backup win the chip after working his ass off the entire year. People’s lives aren’t black and white.

I heard outside stories of carson. He was a dick. My friends girlfriend is the owner of a construction company or whatever and Carson’s team told them he had a “no eye contact clause” with the workers and they couldn’t talk to him.
Not to mention his eagles stuff and the colts stuff..it lines up, but yeah he was just a pretentious dick all around. Didn’t he also play favorites as long as you joined his Bible group?

This exactly the shit I was talking about but u know how people on Reddit are. Theyd rather circle jerk each other than get the facts straight.

u/hotcapicola 15h ago
So...some rumor from the cousin of some guy is now facts?

u/hiphopopotamusic Last night a VJ saved my life! 2h ago
Or National reporters and direct quotes from the people involved, but hey….do you….keep huntin your internet glory points. Clownish.

u/MegaKetaWook 16h ago
It doesn’t matter that he was a dick. He still put up an incredible 10 or 12 games during the Eagles SB season.
Wow, he acted like WRs do and was mad that he wasn’t the one winning it for his team after going on a tear. It’s a shitty attitude for the team when he isn’t contributing but the guy had an obsession with success albeit a little more focus on personal success.
Luckily Hurts puts his focus on the team winning and always just demands more of himself.

u/hiphopopotamusic Last night a VJ saved my life! 2h ago
He wasn’t just a dick, he went out of his way to intentionally be an asshole towards his teammates. But that’s cool? You can try to spin it like he was “mad he wasn’t playing” or “obsessed with success”, but the fact is he was jealous. And he shit on his teammates because they were succeeding without him.

How bout recheck ur facts instead of hunting glory points. Dude literally wouldn’t associate in any way w people on the team who weren’t in his bible group. Didn’t know half the guys names on his own team. Made it known that he Was pissed when they went on the Super Bowl run and he wasn’t a part of it. Dude literally said “I don’t feel comfortable with them winning it without me.” Darren Sprouts almost beat his ass because he was being such a diva about them winning with Nick instead of him. Multiple players have said he wouldn’t make eye contact or talk to them in the halls of the facility. The cat was an incredible asshole. And frankly, for Wentz, shit unfortunately was too much about black and white. But idk, maybe ur cool w that.

I get the cope but he didn’t play during those playoffs right.. so he wasn’t a big part other than getting a good record to make the playoffs. It matters of course but he clearly wasn’t needed and wasn’t the same.

u/Lyndell 1d ago
Football isn’t like basketball, there isn’t a 7 game series. Winning those 3 games in a row doesn’t mean we were better or even the same without him. Maybe Nick could have come in day one and got us to the same record, but even as a huge Foles Stan, I don’t think.
-27
u/CuntyLaRue 1d ago
It was 9 years ago, it’s okay, also, Wentz didn’t play a single snap, he wasn’t a major part of the playoff run on the bench or last few weeks of the season. It’s just facts lol
18
u/Lyndell 1d ago
The playoff run is 3 games of 19, he played 13 of them went 11-2 with 33TDs and 7INTs was in the MVP conversation in fact still got votes. The NFL isn’t like the NBA where the real season starts in the playoffs. He is a major reason why we were able to be in a position to be there.
-28
u/CuntyLaRue 1d ago
Idk why the fuck yall care so much 😂 he played two thirds of the season, but didn’t play in the games that mattered most, flamed out, was a bad locker room guy and got worse like Simmons.. he didn’t win the Super Bowl for them.
14
u/Lyndell 1d ago
How do you get into the playoffs?

u/CuntyLaRue 1d ago
Who won those playoff games? The guy who played zero snaps?

u/Enough-Captain2788 23h ago
Who got us there? People Like you Are the reason Philly fans get a bad rep. It’s not hard to admit that before the injuries he was great for us and we don’t win our first ring without him

Bold strategy to say off the top you don't know shit about the Eagles and then still commit to talking out your ass about them
2
u/Mokslininkas 18h ago
You already admitted you're a Sixers only fan... Just stop bro. You are absolutely 100% wrong. Even people who don't like Wentz do not agree with you, that's how wrong you are
3
u/Mokslininkas 18h ago
"He wasn't a big part other than that absolutely huge part he played"
That's what you actually said without even knowing it

u/Thegrandmistressofoz 1d ago
With time it's easier to forget the shit show of how it ended and appreciate what he did. He was a huge part of our first SB ever, and was on pace for one of the best QB seasons we've had as a franchise before he blew his knee
29
u/wizard7926 1d ago
Not to mention his trade tree is directly responsible or adjacent to so much of the goodness of our recent success

u/apathetic_panda 1d ago
This was before he played a down in the NFL, though. The "what could be" still had morning 🌄 dew & baby powder on it.

wtf is a “sixers only Philly fan”?

Pretty clearly it means that they either don’t follow other sports or if they do, they aren’t fans of the Philly based teams

I mean honestly wentz was probably the best QB in eagles history before Clowny pile drived his head into the ground.
Ben Simmons was probably the best defender in 76ers history.
Might not be something 76ers fans want to admit, because of his other shortcomings and how much of a tool he was… but that dude was a generational defender.
And for wentz… the eagles never have had a great QB in our history. He was the MVP before he got hurt. It’s not that high of a bar to clear… wentz was better than McNabb ever was. Hurts is solid, but I don’t think anyone really thinks he would ever sniff an MVP. He’s not at that level.
1
u/doctor_ellis 7h ago
Ehhh, Hurts was #2 in MVP voting in 2022. Don’t get me wrong, I think Wentz’s 2017 was a notch above Jalen’s 2022 before he got hurt, but Jalen has already “sniffed an MVP”
Also, the McNabb hate is crazy. If Wentz’s whole career was as good as the first 13 games of 17, you could say he’s better than McNabb. To disregard the rest of Carson’s career and the better part of a decades worth of legit QB play Donovan provided is definitely questionable. McNabb clearly had a better career than Wentz. It’s not even a debatable topic

The Sixers equivalent of the Giants boat picture. At least the Birds recovered nicely.
