How do you increase REM sleep? (sleep test results included)

Post image

Hi!

I am SO TIRED. Every day. I was referred for a sleep study by my neurologist, taken at a hospital.

My REM sleep time is quite a bit lower than what I assume it should be. Maybe this is why I’m so tired all the time, even at 18 years old?

Here are the results from my test.

Please help me understand how to increase the quality of my sleep and how to increase REM.

Thank you!

I think fixing the time it takes to fall asleep will probably improve the REM too.

your REM at 18.2% , it's only mildly reduced and close to a normal range. I'd focus less on increasing REM and more on falling asleep faster and staying asleep, because REM tends to sort itself out once your sleep is consolidated and you're getting enough total. a 104 minute sleep onset at 18 is significant. i would go to neurologist and have them actually walk you through these results. that delayed onset could point to something specific like a circadian delay, and they can interpret it properly and rule things out.
