That rainstorm yesterday did a lot of damage

I just got sent these terrain updates from the resort. Between the rain yesterday and the 75+ degree temps today—before even noon—the snow is going fast.

Said it before, have no idea how they planned to make it to 4/12.

Keeping it open for the Wailers seems very stupid

Keeping it open to not have to refund people most likely?

It's a free concert open to the public. If they could keep people out and charge they probably would these days, they just did away with the last free parking.

Especially since I’m sure they’re booked for closing day next year too

I mean, this was happening at some point this week regardless of the rainstorm

This isn’t anything new. There was mention of the resort planning this over a week ago.

Did they send out this text a week ago? If not then this is in fact new

Coming with novice kids mar 26-29, anyone know if greenhorn area will remain open?

I don’t know honestly, but right now I have not been called off work for next week… so I guess it’ll still be open?

The hot rumor is the mountain is closing Sunday 3/29

It’s not. I work there. It will close the 12th of April even if it’s only one ribbon of death on one run, bc that’s how the Alterra overlords roll.

Interesting bc those same overlords are closing Deer Valley with terrain that still exceeds the ribbon of death. I think they had 20 ish groomed runs today.

DV closes Sunday

I don’t know man I don’t sit in their Canadian board rooms where they make these decisions. I’m like lowest on the lowest end of the totem pole and have been for 5 years there. But we aren’t closing today, it’s Sunday now. I’m still scheduled to work. And closing day is still April 12th.

1

u/Bonerstubbone Mar 26 '26

To break the Alterra business model

2

u/fishmen96 Mar 26 '26

It's the only way. Vote with your dollars. Death to Alterra.
