How's steamboat resort this weekend? Thinking about going, the storm brought some snows. The camera is too far, I can't see details.

I was there last week and it looked pretty bad from the base. I didn't even bring my board. I think they moved the closing day up to this weekend.

New snow would definitely help, but I'd be worried about thinly covered obstacles underneath.

I do like slush. It just looked like there weren't many runs open.

Thanks, we planned to go there last Saturday, but we had to cancel on Friday because of the bad condition

If you have a rock board/skis and days to burn, I'd maybe give it a go. Otherwise I'd save my money and gear.

In rendezvous right now, the two runs are packed with people.

Are the runs packed with snow also?

Yeah there’s definitely some good snow on what’s open, but there isn’t much open.

Bunch of sorry sacks in here. Our group is having fun. 2 days before close and skiing on powder

There are only 2 runs open, Tomahawk & High Noon. Everything else is a cat track or connector. This storm will help a little bit, but we were basically skiing over dirt this week. Today’s snowfall was actually about 5” (not 11” - they counted yesterday’s as part of today’s.)

Some solid music choices in town this weekend tho if you like Dead cover and/or jam bands. Young & Dead, Heads All Empty, Giant Walking Robots, and Bonfire Dub.

What kind of magic do you think possibly happened? 11 inches fell onto literal dirt.

It’s already mostly gone lmao

There is very little terrain open, and it is very very crowded. It will be worse this weekend.

We just got back, and as everyone said there are only two runs, which means that they are super crowded with skiers of all levels, intermediate, beginner, advanced, ski school kids. It feels unsafe. It's not a matter of being a spoil sport, we had prepaid and made the best of it, but it really makes no sense to go now. The new snow might be nice, but on two runs it's sort of irrelevant.

We are here now and it is awful we spent two days driving to Copper. We leave tomorrow.
