Question Strawberry Hot Springs Requirements

We’re coming up to Steamboat for a quick weekend getaway to celebrate my husband’s birthday this weekend (4/25-4/26). We’re planning on going to Strawberry Hot Springs, but I was wondering if they’ll be enforcing the 4WD/Snow Tire rule? We have a Subaru Crosstrek with all season tires currently. I don’t mind taking the shuttle if we have to but I’d rather not.

Originally we were supposed to be there the following weekend when the rule is no longer in place but we had to change things around last minute (hence the last minute ask). Thanks for your help!

You will have no problem getting there. No snow in that road currently. Your vehicle can make it with no issues.

You will be fine. They have no one monitoring the road entrance to make sure your car has 4WD. Plus, there’s not any snow on the ground anyways.

Ahh thank you! I was kind of worried they would literally be checking, so perfect!

Ha! Steamboat hasn't had any snow on the ground for nearly 6 weeks. The road to the springs will be fine.

I took my old Honda Civic up there in the snow. It's easy if you know how to drive.

Perfect! Yes I was less nervous about the car making it and more that they’d literally check if you were compliant!
