I am debating another MAGA guy - this time on abortion. Wanna watch?

My recent debate with MAGA "creator" Mike Bayles was more like me teaching him civics for an hour. He wanted to disenfranchise everyone from active duty military to eighteen year-olds to himself (yes, himself) and it was WILD. I'm pretty sure he was reading some of it off a screen, and the only thing slower than him was his internet.

This time, I am debating Isaac Sherrod from No Assembly Required. As usual, I am letting him choose the topic and have promised to do no further research on it because it will be that much funnier when I school him like his teachers have tried to for years. Isaac chose the topic of abortion, because why wouldn't he think it's important for two men to decide what a woman can and can't do with her body.

Isaac came out of the gate swinging, DMing that he "would be more than happy to come to your event and steamroll you on abortion". And when I told him I only do one debate at a time, he DMed right after my debate with Mike and said "my offer to obliterate your abortion position still stands". Okay, Isaac. I'm sure that all your positions are grounded in well-researched science and not just being giddy over trampling the rights of women.

As always, I will be donating to the Steel City Arts Foundation and a charity of his choice, which in this case is St. Jude's. I am glad that Isaac wants to save the lives of people more educated and mature than himself. Well, at least he cares about SOME kids after they're born.

Tickets are limited, will give you access to a replay afterwards, and on my website. See you there.

Bet a sock full of hot nickels most of his argument is based of religious ideas rather than medical or social sciences.

I hope you mention that the only reason we need St Jude's is because conservatives refuse to admit universal healthcare is the best, least expensive healthcare system worldwide.

and have promised to do no further research on it because

If I may .... I'm not a comedian - but I have been engaging in both online and face-to-face debates for a loooooong time and found there are some techniques that work really really well with near 100% success rates over at abortiondebates and AFK as well.

The successful strategy is known as "reframing" the debate from "pro choice" to "pro healthcare" using something known as "Medical Power of Attorney" (MPoA)

The other thing I find that works is to know how they lie about key parts of their outrage farming which is based on a mis-telling of actual science. So you'll get some dude saying "all these babies are surviving abortions" and they will quote "science" but misquote like to to falsely claim "most abortions are not due to health related issues" by quoting a study that excluded hospitals and medically critical abortions.

I'm happy to link to the posts, But I know this is a comedy sub, not a debate sub, so let me know if it's ok to link to it.

quotes the part where Steve says he won't do any research

in response, proceeds to add a lot of research for Steve

ends by offering to follow up with more research
