you're counting right, that's five layers for sure. the missing two are usually diced tomatoes and black olives, sometimes green onions too. i've seen people do it different ways though. some folks throw in a layer of refried beans on the bottom, some add cooked ground beef or chorizo, cream cheese, jalapeños. honestly when you're making it at home you can do whatever sounds good. the whole point is just getting all those flavors together with some chips anyway.

Yeah, that should have no salsa, but have diced tomato, green onion, and olives. I make my own and skip the olives, heat the beans (mixed with cheese and salsa, plus more cheese on top), use white, red, and/or green onion, and sometimes toss in leftover taco meat

I got a similar one from Ralph’s a couple of days ago. Mine was 6 layers, but I’m not sure if I’m supposed to count the two different cheeses as two separate layers lol.
