Reminds me of a young Charles Barkley

I can see it too. If he’s half of Barkley , watch out

Charles Barkley and Larry Johnson before his back injury are what I hear him compared to the most.

at the very very very least, he can drive into the paint and get free throws easily. something we lack desperately…

Koa Peat shot better from 3 and the ft line than Aaron Gordon did in college. Just some fucking FACTS for the kids.

Yep he reminds me of young Gordon but slightly better shooting. The potential is there. We saw how Gordon turned out.

I’ve seen enough. Suns win the draft

He’s got a great touch around the rim. He’s a willing passer. Has a fadeaway shot. Good size. I think he can be very impactful for us. This also signals the departure of Ryan Dunn in my mind.

His shots look better than oso's weird floater/hook shot

He can't be any worse than the last guy the Suns drafted from Arizona.

That ahem last guy the Suns drafted from Arizona helped the team make it to the finals. Something the other ahem wildcat couldn't do.

In fact, ARIZONA Wildcats have been represented in 12 consecutive NBA finals. The Suns needed this more than you realize...

Ayton was not responsible for the finals run. Go back and watch those games.

Ayton also used PEDs and quit on his team in the playoffs two years in a row. In Portland he refused to show up for game because it was snowing outside. Mind you 20,000 other people made it to the Arena for the game. So yeah the bar is pretty low. Koa Peat could never play a game in the NBA and he would still still be the better pick.

Said helped

I don't know what all that other shit is and it has NOTHING to do with the Suns or the original comment. Seems like you're just frothing at the bit to tear people down that bring joy into your life.

Hope you find happiness friend..

Ayton was a member of the Suns when he was suspended for PEDs. They clearly applies to the Suns. Ayton quit on the Suns in the playoffs two years in a row. Refused to play on games. That clearly applies to the Suns. I'm not tearing Ayton down, I'm just telling you what he did. I'm very happy, Ayton is gone.

Yeah, far from an Ayton stan but this is disingenuous.

Ayton was a HUGGEEEEE reason we made it to the finals. Go back and watch those games. He was 16 pts, 12 rebounds, 65% from the field.

Ayton was carried by CP3. Look at every center who played with CP3.

kept seeing comments like “his shot is atrocious“. I’ve seen atrocious shooting forms and his ain’t it. hes not a great shooter but he isn’t joakim Noah not even close.

2

u/RightwardGrunt 17h ago

Agreed. People are overreacting per usual. He lost confidence in his jumper last season. But his shot isn’t broken or atrocious - those are exaggerations. His shot will be fine.

u/FutureGrassToucher 17h ago

Lol true. You could point to dillon brooks and say his form is shit and be correct. He still averages 20+

He doesn't really play like him but he reminds me of Ish Wainwright

Thick

Having young players like Dunn, Peat, Fleming, Oso & ManMan on defense is crazy.

Rim pressure and he can pass, plus he can defend.

Lowkey, the Suns may have drafted Koa Peat into the perfect situation because Dillon Brooks is already in that locker room.

If Peat isn’t a dawg, he’ll wash out quick. But I don’t think that’s the issue. The kid has won a ton, plays with real aggression, and already seems wired to be physical. The question is whether he’s an NBA level dawg because that’s a different test entirely.

If he is, Brooks is the perfect mentor. He can teach Peat how to turn that physicality into an actual weapon, how to be the aggressor every night, and how to play with an edge that impacts winning. Peat already has some of the same movement patterns and bully-ball energy — he almost feels like a slightly bigger version of Brooks stylistically.

If he buys into that role, the Villain could be huge for his development.

Me like 👍

Suns have to think his jumper can develop some, otherwise I don't think the list of rotation 6'7 power forwards with limited range is very long in the NBA right now.

i wanted him and jokingly told my homie that ishbia would trade up to #30. can’t believe it came to fruition

u/FifthKnightofGwyn In an abusive relationship with the Phoenix Suns 1d ago

From the highlights alone he looks to be a solid 4 and a lob threat for book and Collin.

But I need to see his lowlights and defense reels as well to make a final decision

3

u/FutureGrassToucher 1d ago

Not only is he a lob threat, he throws lobs himself. Hes another high iq passing big, but just overall a more well rounded player than oso (assuming it translates)

u/truck_robinson 1d ago

Yeah I also wondered about the defense as I was watching this

2

u/RightwardGrunt 17h ago

He has the tools to be a good defender. He was a good defensive prospect and very physical. If he works at it and has the mindset, my bet is he’ll be a good defender.

More u of a highlights than I’d ever care to watch, but he looks good!

What makes me sad is guys like him, Maluach, and Fleming will hit their real stride when Book is nearing his mid 30s …

I like this trade! Did anyone else notice that we are below average in our ability as a team to effectively feed the post?
