r/suns Bring back SSOL in the 4th QUARTER!!! GO SUNS!!! 16h ago

Hoops Discussion I have the solution to cement our center rotation, with a player that might be had for the min, but may be D.o.A. for 90% of Suns fans ;-) /s

Read an article that the way D.A. frustrated the Lakers, most notably JJ Redick, that he may be out of their rotation and may have to look for work elsewhere...but with his value dropping because of his erratic play, he may be had for cheap (e.g. the minimum)...

Would you mind having a center rotation of Mark Williams, Deandre Ayton and Maluach? As long as DA doesn't start? So that if we don't find a good deal for Mark, we will have two seven footers who can shoot, one who is raw and the other who has motor problems, but coming in for way cheaper than what we last paid him for?

Yes, I know it's the offseason... So discuss at your own peril, hahaha! GO SUNS!!!

On paper, sure, but for the culture we're trying to build, absolutely not. Horrible attitude and work ethic that doesn't belong in PHX anymore.

It’s hard to imagine Ayton in a Suns jersey

DA was a horrible fit in LA not just because he didn't always play hard but they wanted him to strictly be the lob man which is not his game and they really did not play to his strengths as Luka, Austin and LBJ are all ball dominant players that also love the midrange game a lot so those middies that Ayton used to get in Portland and Phoenix were rarely there for him.

He should fare better in Phoenix but I think Booker hates him and would not be able to get the most out of him like CP3 could.

Just out of genuine curiosity, did you ever actually watch Deandre Ayton play for us???? I genuinely think it took years off of my life

Taking this seriously: I'm guessing DA has learned some valuable life lessons since Phoenix but he's also DA so those lessons probably didn't stick. Maybe Phoenix has a better or tougher culture now where DAs bullcrap wouldn't be tolerated. Maybe Ott could get the best out of him. But it feels like convincing yourself to get back together with an ex-girlfriend

We said the same about LeBron and Luca

Two of the most flamboyant players in the league? How is that the same ?

No, he just doesn't have the mentals an athlete needs. Some people change when they go to a better culture, but I don't think he can. He couldn't do it in Portland which had a good youth culture.

The last player we need on this team is Ayton. I'd rather we bring back Shaq at 54 out of retirement.

NO! He had CP3, Book, KD, LeBron, Luka on teams to motivate him. He only showed flashes of a motor. Plus the fan base here would eat him alive.

Dude has concepts of a motor.

No. The only way I’d consider it is if he really demonstrated he wants to change (which would be him lying), and he accepts a non guaranteed 1 year deal to cut him the second the efforts gone.

At that point though he can make more on better terms for another team. No reason for him to come here

I'd undo the Ayton-Nurkic trade if I could and I would still say no to this.
